Title: Cosmetical Changes and Keyboardlayouts
Post by: Ultralord on May 15, 2010, 01:52:29 pm
Hi there guys.

So first of all, sorry for bad and/or wierd english. I'm not a native english speaker.

I'm playing PS for some months now and i have some ideas.

1) I'm using Dvorak keybard layout now and every time a want to play I had to change my keyboard settings. The keybord settings shoud go with button location and not with letter is pressed.
Why? Because anyone who uses a different Keyboard layout don't have to change it or the ingame settings.

2) Add a Battle tab in the chat menu. Everything related to battles will get there, so the main tab won't get spammed with: You hit XY for Z damage.
3) Monsters move around and have an aggro radius. When you enter this radius the monster starts attacking you. You also could flee from fights and get a message: You got away.
    That should add some realism
4) The "You got a quest" message appears in the NPC tab when the NPC finished speaking. I think this is self explaining

I got some other ideas, but i think its to soon for them.

Keep on trollin' guys!

1) it's not possible to know "key location" from software even two querty keyboards might differ a lot even from the same region, even more when you are in the laptop market. only the main letters are assured in position but the rest symbols, language specific letters can be anywhere. Even knowing the keyboard type requires developers to implement ways to ask each operating system (and it's part of crystal space regardless and not of ps)
2) you can disable it from chat -tabs you can even mute all or the events you aren't interested in even from the system tab
3) already implemented if not in the actual server which have old software at least in newer one with the additional planned system. npc will "lose interest"
4) ?

for the 4th point, he means "you got a quest!" ruins the roleplay immersion. i haven't quested in a long time, so idk if it's true.
