Title: No Sound Before-Game or In-Game

For some reason when I load PlaneShift (Using either the launcher or the client) I just have no sound.  I checked the in-game settings and everything was how it should be.  I'm running Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium.  Any help?  Thanks!

Edit:

Also I went to the audio settings in the launcher and checked "Enable audio", but still nothing.  Also I seemed to have fixed it once by disabling VBO but when I launched it again, no sound.

is the sound set to openal or software?

Openal, because for some reason when I choose "software" it crashes on startup.
