Ah, heya all.
So i just updated my graphics driver, because for awhile there PS wouldnt even come to the launch page. Anyways, everything goes good untill i hit Play on the bottom right on the first Launch page. After that it loads the Arcane Chrysalis (sp) page with the loading bar. And the bar goes no where, always empty. So obviously this is where im stopped, here is specs:

i'm sorry to say this but that pc proberly just won't play planeshift, that graphics card is WAY under anything usefull and it proberly doesn't even support opengl 1.5 that's needed to run ps okay, however you could try and adjust the settings to the lowest possible settings even if it would run it would be really slow on your pc if it only has 512mb ram, you need atleast 1gb

I know thats not the case, since WoW plays crystal clear. And PS also was able to play pretty well with the exception of some lag here and there. But i cannot see how it could go from playing to not playing. I just updated the graphics driver last night as well. Could there be another problem? Or is it still as you said? ???

WoW has a lot lower minimum requirements. if it worked lately, you can try it, but basically I have to agree with Elvi - I wouldn't expect planeshift to run well or even playable on your system. (note that hardware requirements are a lot higher since 0.5)

Hmm, okay. Thanks for the help :)

Planeshift's Minimum Requirements is what I would say is 'killing' the player amount. Yes every new computer out now will have the hard drive able to run PS, but a fair majority of people in the world don't have the money, to buy a new computer every update Planeshift has. When CS 1.0 comes out lets hope it will run much better for older PCs.

well, like you hanace, my loading bars have a wall to them, the very first loading screen always goes through, but every other loading screen after that, wont load, unless, i hit the _ to close the page, then i just wait a couple minutes, and open the page back up and the page will be loaded, thats the only way i can get loading screens to go..

I think you and I might be running the same system Hanace. I don't have nearly enough memory or a decent graphics card to play PS.... and after the last update, I couldn't get anything to load. I uninstalled, reinstalled and then ran everything on the lowest possible settings. Once I got it up and going, I experimented with the graphics settings, and slowly moved up to the limit of what it can handle. I still crash every 20 minutes or so, but at least I can log back in and resume.
Don't give up. There's still hope. ;)

Your point is well taken, Vakachehk, and it is very likely a factor in discouraging some new players. However my used IBM ThinkCentre; which cost me $200; does a respectable job; so it is not a case that all old machines won't work.

it depends more on the hardware aka cpu, ram and gfx card that's in them than their name ;)
i too have a pretty old laptop say... a rough guess is about 10 years old and it runs ps acceptable enough to rp now and then if i need it, it has a beter end ati mobile card in it, nothing fancy but it's not THAT bad, it's alot beter than most even todays intel, S3 or VIA graphics cards, doesn't have all the fancy stuff of these new cards but performs quite well in 3D compated to them.
