Hi, I'm obviously rather new here.
I'm curious, how long is an in game day? Is it a true 24 hours long, or does time move faster? My clock says that it is 5:30 PM right now, and in game it is 7:00 PM. I checked in game this morning (was wanting to buy a shield now that they are functional), and it was 1 AM in game and Harnquist wasn't there. Just wondering how time works in Planeshift, since it looks like I'm going to have to make sure I'm logged in at a certain time in the day to access most shops.

One real life day is equal to 6 games days.

Ah, so every four hours a single day in game passes? A single hour RL is therefore six hours IG.
That clears up my confusion then, thank you! \\o//

1 hour in game goes by every 20 minutes

10 minutes actually (unless something has changed)

Actually there seems great confusion (http://www.hydlaaplaza.com/smf/index.php?topic=37905.0) as to the relation between game time and real time. The Information Window's clock would seem to indicate what you are suggesting yet the Setting Team's explanation (http://www.hydlaaplaza.com/smf/index.php?topic=37564.0) of the Game Calendar seems to contradict it; having one real day equal to one game day.
This seems like one area that needs some resolution.

the setting team calendar listing is to facilitate agreeing on events time.

There reasoning has been made clear about that; however that does not change the in game confusion it causes when any one asks how many cycles ago an IC event took place. That situation has been experience by me numerous times leading to lengthy ooc chats.

And yet it's also constantly sometime after 750 AY, which is everyone's apparent birth year....

which leads to my suggestion of there being 2190 days a year in Yliakum, that way age/cycles would be easier to deal with
