Title: A question
Post by: Catlemur on October 03, 2010, 02:10:28 pm
Posibly noobish but:Can 3D models made for other games like Oblivion be used in Planeshift?

depends on the format you have them in.
if it's some source format and you can export it to cal3d for models or any format supported by CS for other things, it shouldn't be an issue.

The question may less be "can" (there are so many converters available), but rather be "want", or "is allowed".

PlaneShift doesn't want to re-use material of other games. And you may also not be allowed to do that.

you may be interested in b2cs/b2.5cs (blender to crystal) in that case
note that b2.5cs (for compability with blender 2.5) is still being worked on and may not be (fully) functional, yet
if you have questions about those, it may be best to ask around in #crystalspace - especially sueatside tends to know quite a bit about those

I do not have any modeling skills myself but I will tell about this program everyone who I will recruit.
