I think the view sums up the city better. :)
-
I like that one much better then the normal one
-
It is probably time for new loading screens, yes... the old ones look rather ugly (especially the one for hydlaa_jayose) because they were reduced to 8 bit per pixel (like GIFs).
But they should have common overlays like the boxes we used to have on the left side, where the progress is reported.
-
This is my Jayose load screen not as nice as the plaza but more difficult to get a nice aerial shot due to massive holes in the distance :p

As some people have asked for the raw files of my loading screens, here are they are (ones I made so far):

Take a few from the top of the windowless tower and some winch screenies.
/demands it!

Unfortunately, the logo looks so ... aliased. Exempting is not at all trivial...
-
I agree the aliasing of the logo is not very nice, but couldn't find a decent HQ logo to use apart from an old-gif logo.
one for the arena:

and death realm:

Uhm the Arena has a third floor?
-
no but back during the glitch where mounts could fly, you could get up to the top of the arena and look down
-
"One flew over the Cuckoo's nest" :D
Even longer ago, a similar glitch alllowed to sum up upwards velocity while running and jumping into a wall, so when finally released, one could fly over the arena. The funny part about it was: Starting from the outside, the inside appeared hollow (a matter of rendering portals, showing the inside only when you pass the hallways), so when you dropped "through the arena", you landed on the "bottom of the world" (there was neither falling damage nor out-of-bounds reset), and people started hiding valuable items in corners of the sky dome ... not expecting others to find them easily.

I can't seem to be able to zoom that far (arena image), how did you?
-
you have to modify your camera settings outside of the game. It's tricky, because you can only zoom out once after you do it... once you change your camera again, your settings will revert back to their normal limits.

Just a quick question but how do you "Add in" the custom load screens?
-
In the "art/skins/base" of your PlaneShift installation directory you find a file "client_base.zip". That archive contains files "loading/loading_*.png" with the images of the loading screens (the names are more or less self-explanatory...I think it's not to hard to figure out what loadingscreen "loading_winch" is). So all you have to do is replace those files with your own versions.
-
But if you ever use a "Repair" in pslaunch, then it will be discovered as having not the expected checksum, and may be replaced by the original.
