Hi people,
I'm new and I really like this project, which is why I'm trying to try the game :D
However, I'm having serious performance problems, even before entering the game.
After reading the advices in the forum, I'm still unsure where the problems might come from.
I can start the launcher and it runs perfectly, but when I start the game, I have like half a frame per second.
I'm using new drivers, I tried turning the graphic options off (AA, VB, background loading, cache, shaders and textures low) and set the resolution to 800x600, tried fullscreen and windowed, AL sound, software sound and no sound, I tried the 64 Bit and the 32 Bit Version, but I can see no significant improvement. In the worse cases, even the sound pauses every other second.
I'm running on a Intel Core 2 Duo 3GHz, 4GB RAM, Geforce 8800 GTX, 64 Bit Windows 7.
Have I overlooked some option or setting I should have tried, or is there some known bug?
Thanks in advance for your help!

update drivers and /or disable all the applications older drivers have bugs with opening opengl context after directx context (and some also with more than one opengl context) which have been fixed now (not sure about the latest drivers but 4 months ago where fine, while one year ago there was this problem lurking in windows drivers)

Indeed, after I restarted the pc, it works much better.
Thanks so far!
Now I'll start experimenting :)

That was possibly the phase of collecting the "shadercache"...
