Title: Just Downloaded...Wrong server version
Post by: solisashley68 on November 30, 2010, 01:19:01 pm
Hey all...

I just downloaded the CBV0.3.010 version today and I installed it and ran the updater (with the -auto switch) and when I put in my e-mail and pass, it says that I am not running the same version as the server.

Am I missing something here?

Thanks!!!

Wow, where did you find that dinosaur?  :woot:
That version is approximately 4 years old.
Please go to the official download page (http://www.planeshift.it/download.html) and get 0.5.4. ;-)

Don't spread FUD about BitTorrent. If you get a virus, the reason was not downloading via BitTorrent, but downloading warez. The torrent files on the official download page only link to clean software.

At the moment, using BitTorrent would possibly inefficient, because most people will already have the installer and may not share it anymore - and we have a number of reliable HTTP mirrors. But when a new version is distributed, and many people share the file while downloading it new (and not many HTTP mirrors are up to date yet), BitTorrent will be the first choice.

Torrents for CB 0.3.010 may not even run anymore. And when I started playing (CB 0.3.012), that was already more than 5 years ago, I am rather certain... PS Wiki: Crystal Blue 0.3.010 - May 18, 2005 (http://planeshift.ezpcusa.com/pswiki/index.php?title=Crystal_Blue#0.3.010)
