Hi folks,
im having trouble with the new update. Ive a weak idea that it is caused by my character. Every time when it loads, it crashes after 1 second.
So I created a new character to check this and VOILA the games running.
I want my character back. How, is not my problem.
My character: Robben Agilor on the non-roleplayer-server / oja - trasok

Easy, either wait here for a GM so see this post or goto the gm irc channel and ask them to reset his position.

ok, problem solved!
i started a new char and got in contact with a GM.
The last thing before the last crash i did was to rapidly type: /die
The GM told me i were in the drm. Ok, didnt know that. Now it seems to run properly.
This might be a solution for others.
So, it was NOT my computer. I guess a freezer with something, who knows.
so, im gonna test those pterosaurs now ;)

once again the same thing. when i arrived oja - crash
i started the 2nd char, made a shorcut /die launched my first char and back to hydla.
Theres something wrong with oja. Please tell me when i can visit it again.

Most of the time I can easily play in Ojaveda. Or everywhere. Except when it rains.
Now you are able to disable all weather effects in "pslaunch". Try and see if that helps.
There are so far no other reasons known why one would "reliably" crash. At least after deleting "shadercache" once.

Do you have background loading world on? Look in your pslaunch app under settings then graphics. If background loading world is set to on then change it to off or set it to models. With background loading world on sometimes there are missing map sections which cause you to fall off the world and if you fall off the world then try to log in you will crash like this.

weather was on, i was riding through the rain on ojard2, the background load turned off - my 3rd crash 10m in front of the gate to oja.
3rd die-back. so, now developers, its your turn.

Actually, my guess is that it is more of a case of Hardware Dealers than developers. My understanding of the weather crashes is that it is hardware dependent. Perhaps posting your graphic card details would help someone make an educated guess.

i will tell it once more: the old version 0.5.4 did run without any uncommon error. (just the normal stuff)
now, if you all launch your brain, it is just logical that it is NOT a computer faliure, not harware and not software!
It MUST be something with the update.
Ive been told that i am the only one atm with that problem. I dont believe that. Im the onlyone who says that
there is a crash.
Another thing: the same crash when entering gugrontid
(ill look at this for another couple of days and then i will decide)

It happens quite often that I crash on map changes or login. I usually have to keep trying for several times and it finally works.

So if im the onlyone with that problem it says nothing atm.
(other new player log in the first time, it crashes and they never come back - super!)

seems to be fine now. ive done nothing but i can enter all areas again.
proof: not my computer..
so lets hope that its stable for a while ;D

The desire to help you does not increase with the volume of your demand. Rather the opposite... :flowers:
We are of course interested in providing stable software. But the number of developers is very limited, and so is the number of available different hardware to test it on.
