I've updated to the new client 5.5. Everything is fine except that the toolbar is displaying very strangely. The toolbar icons are just a few millimeters in width and extend most of the height of the screen. The labels are normal and they function properly when clicked on. What can I do to fix this? They are distracting and obscure a fair bit of the nice pretty screens. The rest of the display is fine.
My system is an iMac running OSX 10.6.5. 3.06 Intel Core2 duo, 4 GB RAM.
NVidia GeForce9400 chipset for video
I've rerun the updater and run the pslaunch repair utility until it came up clean twice in a row. I've also checked all the FAQs and forum posts I could find, nothing seems to help, or be applicable. I've turned all of the graphics options off in PSlaunch in hopes that would fix it.
THX

I believe the xml file that describes your toolbar is stored in your personal planeshift-directory (where also the logs and screenshots are). I would start deleting that one.

Thanks. I went looking for the xml file but couldn't ID it. Is there a filename I should be looking for? There was nothing named toolbar.xml or anything like that. I checked both my user planeshift directories and the system ones. I assume my Mac is different, they usually are, just on principle.
Thx

I didn't find it on my system aswell ;D In doubt, I'd delete the whole user-Planeshift-folder. The only file I know from previous experience is in the planeshift installation folder and called "data/gui/control.xml". You can try to move (not copy, move) that file somewhere else and see if a repair will bring back the original one. But I'd do that only as last possibility.

I am having the same problem, but my isn't a Mac. I do have the same graphics card as you idk if that has anything to do with it tho. If you find a solution I would be happy if you shared it with me. I do know though you can have a temp. fix by right clicking the icon on the far left and it will move the icons.
ps: that icon will become underneath the list of icons after you click it once. You can keep right clicking it till you find where you want the list of icon. After the first time you click it it will be alot smaller so you can easy know which one it is. This is only a temp fix it will change back each time you log in and out. So you can keep using this until you or anyone find a fix. :)

Ha, I was just coming to post this, and here it already is. I've got the exact same problem as the OP.

I had the same problem I just used the small rectangle in the lower right of the tool bar to resize the toolbar. Also if you right click on the crystal icon in the tool bar you can get a different style tool bar. Once I resized the tool bar it has stayed the way I changed it to.

Yeah, that seems to get the toolbar out of the way and not bothersome, but it still doesn't look right.

That worked. Now I can get back to playing the game.
BTW, new interface looks really nice.
Thanks.
