same as everyone in here, i have problems with the game.
first of, i have no "updater" file, app or anything in the game folder and/or start menu, so just to let you know thats helpful ¬_¬
secondly, when i run, it says i cant update due to not an admin, which i can change and have, and still says it ¬_¬
thirdly, i have the current download - i used the torrent file, and have downloaded it twice, and repaired it, and then managed to "update" it (or im guessing i have...) -- my launcher says PlaneShift Arcane Chrysalis (0.5.5)
but my reason for here is 2,
upon launcher, and "Start" i get
1#- is an error box claiming
Warning!
PLaneShift requires hardware acceleration (openGL). Make sure your video cardd rivers are up-to-date.
~ which they are, i have double checked manually and via windows updater and everything is 100%
and 2#- a white screen with a upload/download? bar on the bottom which when gets to the top, another little box pops up saying
PLaneShift has quit unexpectedly!
and no matter what i do, how i do or what i check. nuttin happens other than the launcher restarts itself and its back to square one =/
my pc is fine. i have 6 online mmorpgs and just as many offline games - of which i can run upto about 4 at a time with only mild lag - an example would be warcraft + perfect world + warhammer 40k + sims = fine
so, any idea's on how to get this game to start or do i just go find something else to play?
thanks :sorcerer:

if you've that message you are lacking hardware acceleration 100%.
That message appears when the renderer is the microsoft software renderer which is not supported. This can happen only in two cases 1) the drivers are broken and lack opengl 2) the drivers aren't installed.
Microsoft update doesn't supply video cards drivers except basic ones not adapt to 3d you need to head to your video card manufacturer site, if any.
Knowing the video card installed can be helpful too

Microsoft supports Direct3D, not OpenGL, with its own shipped and known-for-updates drivers.
To get fully hardware acellerated (ICD) OpenGL capable drivers, you really need to download them from the manufacturer of your graphic card's chipset. Useful alternative links - besides the recommended websites of Nvidia, AMD or intel - are also visible in the welcome message on the "scroll" in the PlaneShift launcher (pslaunch.exe).

For OpenGL testing, i suggest GPU Caps Viewer (http://www.geeks3d.com/20101105/gpu-tool-gpu-caps-viewer-1-9-4-and-gpu-shark-0-3-2-updated-with-gtx-580-support/).
My ATI 4870 supports OpenGL 3.3 and it runs the "Furry Cube" demo without exploding... good enough to get PlaneShift running. :innocent:
