I am aware the obvious answers is if you want to RP play on the RP server. If you don't play on the other server.
Admittedly I would prefer to play on the non-rp sever because quite frankly i'de rather not put the effort in. However this game seems to have quite a large RP fanbase behind it. First and formost i would like to play on a server that has a healthy amount of players although I am aware this game hasn't got a huge player base. I would therefore put the extra effort in, if it meant i got to play on a sever with a decent amount of players
So basically does the non-rp server have a decent amount of players on it?
-
The non-RP server has very little, but I am sure there's a person on it at one time.
You can play on both, and have a RP alt and a non-RP alt. But yes the RP server tends to have around 15-60 players on it, depending on the time of day. the non-RP server around 20 at peak and down to 1-5 at non peak.
You're choice but RPers get snotty when you are out of character, you are more than welcome to learn some RP by some good RPers that can teach you, you can find most of them in the Daughters of Xiosia, Dark Empire or Knowledge Seekers (there's probably a few more flying about)
-
Roleplaying is not as hard as many believe ... as long as you are able to imagine your character living his daily life in the game world, not knowing about being played in a game. If you pass the tutorial on each of the servers, you will have learned the most important basics from the tutorial NPCs already. The rest is just practicing.
-
The peak on the RP server is closer to 80 with 40-60 being the typical number of players online at most times with the low getting in the low 20s at the slowest times.
There are a lot of people who will help you get started with RP, as long as you are willing to listen to them and try and learn. If you insist on just doing what you want and being out of character then you will start to annoy people.
-
How may Players depends on time of Day, I live on the west coast of the US. in the morning, up till mabey 4-5 PM there are generally 60-80 people online, but once it hits 11PM to midnight, numbers reduce to 20-10
Im not on the non-rp server anywhere near as much as RP server, last time i was on there, was to see amdenier before it was available on rp server, time before that was last sumer when VV was banned.
There are generally 6-8 people on either guildless or in <Heroes>

... also depending on time of year, last time I played it would of been 60 at peak in the northern summer months, if that. But so you know when I first played this time of year (just after Christmas) would of been around 200-300 at peak but player numbers have dropped rapidly since start of 2009.
-
player numbers have dropped rapidly since start of 2009.
That couldnt possibly have anything to do with the release of 5.0 could it?

That and many more reasons... ;)
For starters the mobs were much easier to train, make money, kill, get PP, from, they weren't balanced as they were a little too easy, but what's better? easy with a nice number of players, or hard with close to no one to play with?
Also a lot of players and devs have left aswel, I am sure people will know why through many complaint topics ;)
GMs seem to have gotten tougher/stricter/ridiculous in some cases and a lot of people are currently banned for numerous and silly reason, in which I don't think the GMs understand that people have their 'bad days' and 'are human and do stupid things occasionally', I am not just referring to myself.

He asked what server to choose, not why to leave PS

I know so why did you asked the question ???

@ Earowo:
What version 5.0 ?! -- We are not even at 0.6 yet.
@ TJC138:
Try both. Decide later. -- But try to give roleplaying a chance. You might enjoy it after a while. Even if it is just a grumpy cold stare as reply on a greeting.

-
*smacks Vakachehk* That kind of typing is not (or should not be) allowed in here.
Also, try EXPC first, and if you like the mechanics, go to Zeroping. Then you'll have mechanics with roleplay. Twice the fun \o/

according to this graph you are both wong.

Not even above 50 according to this graph taken from the Zeroping site http://62.173.168.9/index.php?page=stats
For January how ever you are right, but I said ...

... in December.
According to the other daily and weekly graphs you are right, but it's not at peak times it's at very odd occasions at peak time. According to the weekly one it only goes over 70 once and hits dead on 70 once as well, not close to 80 though. So really unless peak you're meaning peak time of year, day of week and time of day yes 70-80 players. But on average, during the year I think I'd be right peak time is around 40-60, and 20-15 is when it gets very quiet maybe down to 10 at occasions. ;)

Arguing for arguing's sake. That's what a troll makes.
-
may I suggest a statistic course? because you are failing at reading graphs :)

I know it is statistics, but still according to the other ones I am still right about having the odd rear occasion that it is above 70 players. Also at first when I read the graph I thought that it's how many different (different IPs and accounts) players have logged in, but I was certain that's not the case because that would probably be around 80-120. Not that I have full access to the server to see myself, but I am sure peak times would be more around 50-70 and at rear occasions up to 80ish during this time of the year. So in which I was currently wrong when I said the players are around 15-60, in my first comment.
@LigH no, that would be a 'LigH troll', an internet troll is someone who is almost like a bot except they are run by a computer, or they just make up dumb crap like; "oh I can see you, I'm that person by your window hahahaha" I'm not arguing I am stating my reply to their replies to my post, got a freakin problem with that?!

well the first show that there have been less players online after new year (work?)
the second shows the general trend which goes from 15-60 to 20-70.
the third shows the long term trend. we can see the new client release raised the amount of people online (more stable client?)

Yes I agree with that but like what I said it only goes over 70 at the very odd occasion.

Gone past 70 once, so it's closer to 50-70 not 60-80 at peak times.
the third shows the long term trend. we can see the new client release raised the amount of people online (more stable client?)
The new client I wouldn't say is the reason it raised it just tends to that time of year, but yes the whole take a look at Amdeneir would of triggered a few players like when Dsar Kore opened you can see the HUGE rise in March (I think that's when it opened)
-
there was an huge improvement in client stability there and we released many things including bows and yes akkaio (btw it's in june)

I don't know the stability of the client currentl.
I thought it was in March because I knew it was before the Irka Festival in mid June so mmmh. And in March there's a massive high of player numbers.

And in March there's a massive high of player numbers.
they were celebrating my birthday
-
Riiiight like you're that popular.
I think that was when the first really stable client for 0.5 came out I think it was 0.5.1.1 or something? then they did a stuff up somewhere and had to try and fix it.
