Title: system does not recognize torrent files

got a new computer. and  trying to download planeshift on it. however i can not run the torrent file as nothing runs it. what can i do? is there somthing to download to run? free obviousaly. i am running on windows 7 on an an IBM.

You need a program like Utorrent. Google torrent downloader.

You don't need to use the torrent file to download the game. There are also "usual" HTTP mirrors available, see the chapter "Direct Download links".

But if you want to try it, you will need a "BitTorrent client" (like, for Windows, µTorrent (http://www.utorrent.com) = "Micro-Torrent"). Read the download page (http://www.planeshift.it/download.html) again, they are mentioned there.

i got the torrent files to recognize and launch however on the install when i get to loading it  comes back with a error message saying there has been a error in running the file and it has ended with a error code. this is the part where it says it is the Vc++8. i can not redownload the torrent agian because it gives me a 505 bad gateway message  and the drect links only take me to the top of the page and do not download. any other advice?
