Greetings.
I noticed that since the last update, torches and campfires don't deal light anymore. I have an orange cloud where there should be fire instead, and my torch doesn't 'Frighten the Shadows from my Path'. Some other players told me they have the same problem. Help! I'm scared!!
Is it a bug? If yes can I solve it?
Is it a matter of configuration? I have particles settled 'High'.
I liked the old fire, even if it used to cause some lag...

Torches and Campfires usually do work as light sources.
But only on a few certain targets. The rendering order seems to be so that the landscape is not affected by its light, only items, characters...
And yes: The way how it looks is strange. But I wonder if it is related to another conversion to the wrong DXTC subtype of DDS images (DXT1a instead of DXT5).

I don't wanna be a troll but... thanks! we understood! ;D

Well, let's explain it this way: If you want to paint shades of gray, don't use feather and ink.
There are many reasons where "binary alpha" (either completely opaque or completely transparent) is required. But probably not for effect particles. Partial translucency would be suitable for them. Therefore, you should never convert from an original to a release image format without thinking and chosing the best matching options. Automatisms were the reason why we have so many ugly textures today (frayed fences, grass and trees; tree leaves becoming black blocks in fog) which I can't fix, which "only Talad" is able to change.
