i have up dated and still cot run not run i tryed a fix and it dose run any ideas?
-
I would go into your options menu and look under control then keys and see what your run key is set to and maybe try setting run to a different key. Also look at your run/walk toggle key maybe as well.
-
My run/walk is the left Ctrl, but i cant remember if thats defualt
-
It is probably the default. And a rather confusing default. Therefore I changed it (years ago):
- Run = Shift (like shifting the gear up), as I was used to from so many other games before
- Sneak = Ctrl (like having a better control over my movement)
And I prefer the right ones of these key pairs, because I can reach them with my thumb while having the other fingers on the cursor cross.
-
I'm afraid he's referring to another issue:
http://www.hydlaaplaza.com/smf/index.php?topic=39036.msg441622#msg441622
-
I have sneak set to N so you know, N wor Nseak
-
I saw someone hiding (becoming invisible), but "hiding in shadows" in not implemented. Is it done with sneaking somehow?
-
it's sneaking and it's not extremely invisible (except if you have an issue with your gfx card)
-
As far as I understood, sneaking currently displays a kind of effect that might be used for "Hiding in Shadows" some day (and then gets removed from sneaking again), just as "proof of concept", or technical test.

Oh, Boeven might be right: It is not about the movement of the character in the game world, it is about executing the client and launcher at all.
Therefore the correct placement of this thread in "Technical Help: Problems BEFORE entering the game".
My recommendation: Find an experienced computer user who is able to chat with our developers in IRC to find the reason via "live support"; a forum is not the best place, because facts have to be requested and answered again and again and again...
-
sorry if i was being unclear i meant i can not the game or repair it. i have up dated
-
Is your graphics card up to date? im having problems with my ATI right now, so i cant even open PSlaunch
-
it should be it a new laptop.
-
doesn't mean it's good enough you should give more details
-
PS ran before the update when the up date came it would not get past the splash screen, i up dated it still dose not work. i am on a Lenovo don't know about the specifics thought it designed for graphs.
-
disable sound
-
If you don't know details about your PC (not even with any printed manual), get a system information tool (like HWiNFO32, CPU-Z + GPU-Z, SiSoft Sandra, Lavalys Everest ...).

@ sunhear: Well, and now ... your system details, please? CPU (main processor)? RAM (working memory)? GPU (graphic card chipset)? OS (operating system version incl. possible service pack)?
-
from another post,
i am running on windows 7 on an an IBM.
a Lenovo, more precisely.
Press Windows Key + R to open the Run command window. Type "msinfo32" and press OK button.
and there are your system informations.

Works for me now - the server could be on maintenance or something.
-
Well ... HWiNFO32 is free.
But even "My Computer - Properties" and the Device Manager could tell someone details. Just looking there and quoting it has to be done.
The better you help us, sunhear, the better we can help you.
-
Hey Sunhear!
I see you're having issues with the game, tell us the brand of your graphics card (e.g Intel, Nvidia, etc) Intel graphics cards don't tend to work well at running Planeshift. Did your laptop come with a manual? If it did and you still have it, in the manual there should be something about 'hardware' it should have things about graphics, CPU, RAM, HDD, etc, etc. If you find it just tell us in here and we could help you out.

1) disable everything in pslaunch and lower shaders
2) update video card drivers
3) give the crash id in the crash dialog and/or leave a valid comment
4) just for you to know that's not a chip to really play games but should work even if slowly
-
any to test to try an isolate the problem?

i have disabled the sound and lowered all the shaders
where do i get the up dates for my drives?
