I know this has been asked before but it would be vital to make the game 56k friendly. All major MMORPG developers know this because, only 15% of Americans have broadband internet, and globally only 30% have broadband. So most of the player base would be on dial-up. It safe to assume most people here have 56k. So thanks for listening out.

Yes, that would be a sensible thing to do...
says a guy who has a broadband connection that kicks ass...
-
I completly agree, especially since I have a 56k modem that can only go up to 33k cause of crappy local phone lines...
-
Wait for 4-5 years and everybody will have broadband, or at least ADSL.
Aim for the future and not for the past.

hmmm ...i haven\'t seen a difference in game between 56k-ers and broad-banders ...i\'m using 1MB ADSL, and i think i get the same amount of lag as everyone else does (and no, it\'s neither my ram nor my CPU ...PS is compiled from source and top shows quite a heap of free mem and CPU also my geforce 2 mx shouldn\'t suffer from a little rain in game)

yeah, i think 56k people won\'t suffer that much, though i can\'t be sure.
I\'ve heard that the traffic of bits and bytes between the server and client lies only around 1 to 2kB, so that shouldn\'t be a problem for 56k. But that\'s only hear-say so i won\'t wager my life on the truth of that.

yea, i think a dev (could be acraig) mentioned it somewhere on these forums ...i think it was linked with \"lag\" (which i still believe exists!!!)
