Being able to build the game is not all, but a good start. Next will be that the test team gets an idea of how serious you are about helping, especially when things are not only fun. A good start is to help testing reports in the bug tracker, especially unconfirmed ones, or ones that are not clearly reproducible.
Thanks, its my first time actually using Terminal, and i've come across an error at almost every step, so its taking a lot longer than I thought, but when I get there, i'd also like to add to the tutorial, and update it to make it less confusing for other new testers.
That bieng said, are there any devs that run OSX? Kayden, RlyDontKnow and Pizik have helped out alot but they don't run OSX.

https://planeshift.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/planeshift/trunk
download the source from there with an svn client, in the documentation there is a guide to building follow it in order to get a server and client running. that's a prerequisite to being the in the tester team (just like in the engine development team)
-
So, is there still a need for Mac OSX people? Not powerPC on my end, but I'm OSX, as you know, Weltall ;) If I decide to sit down and try and finish the client and server build sometime, I'll let you know. If you need someone on Mac I'd be happy to do what little I can to help out...
-
if you want to help testing it would be great, the vm is too slow to actually test the client and i don't want to install macosx natively (even if i should still have 10.4 in some hd)

ok the link u post is an "ftp folder"
which is the correct path to download ?

all of it would be my guess...

download the source from there with an svn client...
The sourcecode is provided by a "concurrent versioning system" – here SVN = "SubVersion".
If you talk about an "FTP folder", you are probably using the Internet Explorer under Windows. Sou you were unable to read the "Compiling guide" and did not notice the suggestion to use "Tortoise SVN" as SVN client for Windows.

make sure to use revision 507 for cal3d - HEAD is broken more often than not

Like I said, I'll do anything to help you guys out if you need Mac OS coverage, I'll let you know when I get that build done...

Building a Mac release is one issue.
But testing means a lot more. There are not only code issues. Settings and Rules issues are rather independent of the client.

PlaneShift testing team recruitment openings have expanded. The new recruitment thread is located here (http://www.hydlaaplaza.com/smf/index.php?topic=39153.msg443349;topicseen#msg443349).
This thread will be closed now.
To adexmont and Caraick: thank you very much for your interest :) If you need help building, jump to IRC, channel #planeshift-build and ask for help if you are stuck. This channel is the place to be if you would like to to apply to the testing team.
-
@LigH- I'm certainly not technically qualified to be building the next Mac releases, the only thing I could help out with is testing, or settings and rules as you mentioned...
@Aurelynt- Thanks for the tip, I'll be sure to hop on there, and also stop posting here till I get it done ;)
