"Citizens of Hydlaa, I know of your efforts, your ordeals. I've had the honour of sharing them with you."
An enkidukai spoke to all on Hydlaa Plaza. People were listening, not sure what to make of it. All were quiet, the crowd a mixture of curiosity and ennui... The speech progressed, about his experience, his knowledge of the current issues and troubles of Hydlaa.
But the calm and serenity was soon to be undone.
"I stand here before a false god." he stated. The crowd was astonished. Some threatened him, some gritted their teeth, others just laughed in disbelief. But Chancellor Jekkar showed them it was no matter to grin...
Because the Empire was now returned. The Dark Empire of olden.

It sounds pretty dang cool, but wouldn't the Ochtarchy put down one massive fist on this sort of thing?
-
Yup... It would put it down just like any agitator on the street. Some get their messages through though :D
-
Chancellor? /me snorts.
-
Is there freedom of assembly in Yliakum?
-
Standing in front of the Laanx statue and insulting Talad as false god ... interesting.
Gag Harmond will need to have a word with Roberet. And Yayelle, if possible...
-
Don't forget Morwen!

Wait, what?

It's time for the Dark Empire members to die.The citizens of Yliakum must live free of any kind of goverment.Firstly we will destroy your little gang and the whole Octarchy. ;)

Nice speech, Jekkar, despite the faux-pas.
It will be interesting to see how the Octarchs deal with this situation. The whole power struggle that seems to be in its first stages now is very interesting and a good engine for roleplay, especially since there is also a religious component to it. Let's see where this thing rolls and hope that the DE folks have talked to the devs so it won't be put down that fast. Civil unrest? Powerstruggle? RP-wise, I like the sound of that.

They do worship Dakkru, after all. ::|

Not every member I think. At least I don't worship any god and I am still an imperal. Though I was told to worship Dakkru yesterday right before that announcement....

Worshiping Dakkru isn't necessarily a bad thing, to be ousted from Yliakum, it's just generally frowned upon by the community for it's connotations of death and such. But, so far as I know, there is no specific rule or law against Dakkru.
-
I am aware of that, Jilata. :whistling:
But after Jekkar's speech, those who do not worship the Goddess of Death are now in a bad position: they either have to rebel against their leadership or become branded Dakkru followers by the public. It's a clever move by Jekkar and the others of the DE leadership, but given the observable philosophy and the machiavellian attitude, it nearly was to be suspected. Theocratic, verly likely oppressive autocrats talking about an utopia...who said the Empire wasn't evil? Jekkar himself? :P
The DE better have something to back them up or we won't even find a trace of them in the history books of the future Yliakum.

Indeed. Then again, I think the followers of Xiosia (http://planeshift.ezpcusa.com/pswiki/index.php?title=Xiosia) see death as a natural part of life and the overall harmonics and balance of the general cycle of life. Dakkru (http://planeshift.ezpcusa.com/pswiki/index.php?title=Dakkru) however has a way darker connotation when it comes to her aspect of death. One might compare it with combining the aspects of the ancient egyptian deities Isis/Osiris vs. Sekhmet/Ammit/Sobek.

:O What shall transpire?

Nice speech, Jekkar, despite the faux-pas.
Ah forgive me if I made any. I hope the speech itself was at least an enjoyable event for everyone. You'll be hearing of us in the coming times :).
-
Welp, whether it gets smashed to bits do to GM/Dev rejection of the idea, or takes root and grows into something awesome, i hope im on next time to be a part of it!
