Everytime I try and use the updater, it crashes when it downloads the first file (pslaunch2.exe) and pops up a box saying "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b). Click OK to close the application."
I tried using the repair function and for the most part it went through till the end. Now it says that the files don't need repairing but it still asks me to update. Any suggestions?
Running Windows 7 64-bit, with 8gb ram

check if you can run pslaunch2 as admin and replace it with the main pslaunch
-
I can't. Everytime I try, I get the error message stated above.
-
I know someone else had to run it as 32 bit... but he got it running with no problems when he did that.
-
I also got the same problem. pslauncher runs fine, pslauncher2 won't run. The client 0.5.6 itself runs fine if it's started directly (psclient.exe), or from the "old" pslauncher.
Neither running pslauncher2 as administrator nor using one of the compatibility modes helped to get it running. And it's not possible to run a 64-bit program "as 32 bit" like Tessra said. Or did you want to say that the 32-bit version isn't affected?
My system: Athlon II X4 640, 4 GB Ram, ATi Radeon 2900 Pro, Windows 7 Professional x64, PS x64

I can ask him when I talk to him again exactly what he meant. All I know is he had issues with the 64 bit, but managed to run the 32 bit just fine.

Same here, win64 failed to update, also after reinstall, but the win32 version went through all updates smoothly.

Well all seems to be fixed now since I can download the 0.5.6 version :)
