Title: An Open Application to the Planeshift GM Team

P.S. Remember: When everyone agrees, it makes the jobs of those in positions of power that much easier. So if everyone on the forums sends the GMs a private message expressing their desire for me to be on the team, their job is so much easier. ... Right?

Also, you consider yourself an oldbie when you're just around since mid CB? ... Quite a stretch. Almost insulting, even. Midbie, maybe.

I seriously hope they won't pick you. While you would greatly enrich the GM team and do a better job than all of them combined, there would always be the bitter taste that PS has a GM who confused "its" for "it's". Seriously, that's not okay.

Indeed so. I am pleased you reacted so quickly and correctly to my critique. Please excuse my initial negative reaction to your application; now I see that you're indeed worthy to become a GM.

Since the player IDs of GMs is suppose to be secret submitting an open application to the team in the forums isn't exactly the way to go about trying to get onto the team.

The Process

The starting point of an application to be a GM is simply contact one of our current GMs. The best methods are by private message (PM) on these forums, on IRC or in game. That GM will give you further details on the application and answer your questions regarding it to the best of their ability. They will also request you to send them a PM giving a short written summary of:

1. Basic information including your real name, country and time zone, age
2. Previous GM experience (if any), also meaning moderation of forums or any kind of game
3. Time playing Planeshift (when you started, how much you play during the week)
4. Why you want to be a GM (this is very important)
5. Proficiency in English
6. Roleplay experience (tabletop, fantasy novels read, other MMOs/RPGs played)
7. Any additional qualifications you think may be relevant (experience with computers, social jobs, etc)

The next step (if you are deemed suitable) is a 'hot-seat' interview, this will comprise 3 or more current GMs interviewing you on IRC to decide if you are to be allowed through to the final step.

Note how it says above to send your resume via a PM not posting a thread on the forum. If you can't seem to follow this simple process then doesn't bode well for you to be able to follow the rules of the GM team.

You had already started this thread before you ever talked to me. but yes I did properly post your application in the GM forum and the GM team commented on your application

I was unaware that the GM's would search the internet to verify that I didn't post information about myself anywhere on it. I'm free to post a google doc, I don't see how that would invalidate an existing application, if so, that should be posted in your precious (and apparently "very clear" ) thread.
