Title: Running the game in Ubuntu "Natty Narwhal" distro
Post by: doomknight220@gmail.com on June 18, 2011, 01:46:25 am
So i just installed the game, and the first thing it does when i try to run it is spit out this:
"The application launcher 'PlaneShift.desktop' has not been marked as trusted. If you do not know the source of this file, launching it may be unsafe."
How do I fix this? I'm still fairly new to Ubuntu Linux, or Linux in general for that matter.
Edit:
Never mind, I fixed that by going under "Properties", then "Permissions", then checking the "Allow to run as a program" box. Now I just have to make it so it doesn't close instantly when I open it.
Another Edit:
Well, now I'm past that, but THIS TIME when I try to accept the Tutorial thing it just freezes. so... Now what?

update to 0.5.7.1

although you might have to chmod the pslaunch.bin with +x afterwards, as the updater didn't do that for me.

I think updater even drops the executable bit. It's a bug.
