I've just downloaded the game, and I started playing it but my game was freezing when I was talking to npcs. I read the forums and they said to update my game. So I updated my game, but not the game client isn't launching at all. Can anyone help? My game is currently running version 0.5.7.1.

Sorry, only a guess...but maybe renaming "~/Library/Application Support/PlaneShift" and by this having PlaneShift create a fresh configuration might help.
Edit: the "~"-sign is the path to "/Users/UserName"

Sorry, no real clue about macs. Some other threads suggest turning off VBOs in the launcher. Also playing around with all other settings there might make a difference (like setting everything to medium). Also no clue how easy that is on a mac...but starting "psclient_static" from a shell and pasting the output could give some hints why the game crashes for you.

It doesn't crash. It just doesn't open. at all. like i can't even open the game. nothing shows up.

Ugh...sorry, as I said I have no clue about macs. So...question for all mac users. Does the updater on the mac have the problem of not setting the executable flag for the client also?

run it from the terminal

nvm it works now. I had to reinstall the game, then update while the game was inside applications. that's probably why it didnt work the first time.
