Upon reading Boeven's comic strips, I've thought that it might be a good idea to start a smugglers guild, if there is enough people (commited RPers, shouldn't be a permanent guild: it could be dicbanded, the leaders imprisoned or the gods know what. Alts are accepted). The idea is:
- Players RPing merchants: known merchants, respected, lawful good, etc... selling normal items, but supporting the guild's economy
- Shady dealers, selling all kind of forbidden substances (special furs, forbidden buffed weapons, poisons, species, some kind of tobacco herbs [we know there are smokers in game :P don't hide], etc…)
- Some sort of mafia-like organization, with favors to low citizens, taxes for protection, etc.
This association would look for:
- Merchants
- Hired bodyguards (can be from other guilds, no need to join)
- Dealers (please, be wary if you RP a dealer)
- Some kind of good guild to stop our feet!
- Allied guilds
- Normal peopleasking for favors to the "capo" (I've watched "The godfather" too many times ;D )
Well, discuss! Send me a PM through the forums, or poke Mishka or Jasyus in game (Jasyus will be the char I'll use). Or just post in here, and we'll discuss details later.
Peace, people.
PS: We'll be happy to accept Black Flames, but ssssh >.> <.<

Sounds a good idea, hope all of it works out.

Ok so going through the folders in my mind I've got some nice ideas:
- Assassination / torture jobs: competing merchants might suffer "accidents". Nosy guards could see their noses removed :P
- Messengers: in-guild and out-guild. Discretion advised.
- Workers: providing the guild's main income (of course I could help OOCly with my main)
Please, feedback! I have one person interested already

Love the torture idea, think this could be used well within game. Seeming as I had a certain black feline kill me with a rusty piece of metal might hire ye out to torture her. :D

xD Nice, Soloyos. I actually like this idea myself, I hope more people sees this post and decides to lend a hand, paw, or claw and help this idea grow. It will give PlaneShift a bit of life.

You could call it the Tyndal Trading Company ....
-
What makes you think there's nothing like this yet?

Just throwing in my support. Quite liking the idea! :)

Dont know if your still following the idea Mishka, but you could make up some scroll's/books to recruit, but not like on the billboard thingy's in cities where it would no longer be seceret but in places where not many go, such as behind some crates and so on. Like dead drop (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dead_drop) locations in Oblivion.

This idea is being put in [HOLD] since I'm starting university soon. I realize I have to be (or appear to be) a responsible adult and I'll have to work hard so I can pass this year clean. So I guess it'll have to wait until next summer (that's 9 months? You could go watch a pregnancy). It is doubtful I'll log in again in that period, and if I did I'd hit myself really hard on the head with a golf club, because I realise it's not a sensible thing to do. I'd rather say this here and keep it short other than create a big post. So that's all, see you.
@Catlemur: I wasn't planning on RPing with you anyway… :whistling:
