I was thinking last night, I wish there were a range of huntable mobs on top of the Fortress.
IG it seems flying critters, like tlokes, or advanced vermin, or lithe critters like velnishi's might find great nesting places up in the high, unpopulated top of the fortress. Or even some other bigger game like I don't know what. Eagles?? heh heh... tho' RR's player would hate to be trying to hunt eagles IC or OOC... ::|
I know there are plenty of mobs on the way up the hill, thanks for that! \\o// But on the top would be helpful too, and I think in settings...
OOC, it would help with those last pps when moving to the next level of certain magicks, and with the merchant already there, it would help to cash in or store the spoils of the hunt. Maybe even the Guards would appreciate civilian help in keeping their fortress cleaner (in the form of an easy or mid level quest or two, maybe?) :woot: And certainly with those unnamed blade trainers, that would be helpful too.
Maybe not so much work for developers to stick some mobs up there?
Thanks for considering this idea! What do you think?

I have the impression that putting mobs right inside or on top of the fortress is nonsense, because the purpose of the entire thing is to keep those scary beasts in the stone labyrinths. But honestly, it would be a great addition to ever see the actual doors and maybe take a few steps beyond into the labyrinths. The creatures you would expect to find there are potentially much more powerful than anything encountered in the known lands of the dome. But i guess that is not going to happen any time soon.

I would also like to see the doors. If they remained closed for the time being it would be a relatively minor change, but it would make the fortress make sense.

The Doors themselves, and a few steps inside, is a terrific idea of course! \\o// Preferable to my idea, certainly. I was only suggesting what I, in my techlite brain, thought might be an 'easy' and enjoyable addition to the Fortress's appeal to players.
I know the dev's have a massive list, but maybe the Doors and frightening beasties idea might be added to the ever growing list of ideas? :flowers:

that's not a new idea, it's practically dogma.

If it is dogma, is it anathema to Enkidukai?

More seriously, having the EBD closed would give the option of having a series of quests (like the winch quests) to get access at some time in the future.

would make sense to have this reward upon completing all the Sun Squadron or Shadow Squadron quests.

Great idea. Perhaps an alternate route; than through the BDs that the squadron want-to-be's could use; might be considered. Passage through the alternate route could be made more dangerous or depend on a more evil faction... perhaps involve smuggling. :)
