Blackflame

Artists:
Please post here your artwork showing how you imagine the god(dess?) Blackflame to appear.

Developers:
Please post here any official sources which may have been missed and which can be published outside of the game, or at least some hints where to find descriptions in game, if allowed.

I have no known public source yet...

This thread is planned to collect artwork up to a first deadline, as you can find in the main thread. Afterwards, a poll shall be added so people can vote up to a second deadline.

Please respect the forum rules and common sense when posting images. Try to limit the size of posted pictures, use thumbnails linked to the full size image if possible. You are invited to use e.g. PSPS (http://psps.psde.de) (gallery: FanArt) as picture host.

Despite the rather reserved appearance towards people ... would there be a more or less probable gender?

Don't beat me, but the whispers, the subtle influence, and the ambitioned strive for the goal, make me prefer a female character ...

It's a flame. Since when do flames have genders?

Are you sure that it's not the fact that the German "Flamme" is female that is mother of this thinking? (Or that favorite joke of yours, you know, the backronym (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Backronym) to MMORPG you mention in like every second post.)

Anyway, since I've been arguing with "official" wording before, I have to say that the linked PSWiki article appears to be extra careful never to use a pronoun. That might suggest either that it's not decided, that it's supposed to remain for everyone's own interpretation, or that it's in fact neuter.

I don't think there is a point in picturing the black flame, its worship is much different than other gods. Its followers don't need to go to a specific place to meet with it, they just hear the voice in their heads. Whether the voice is of male or female nature is also irrelevant since noone will ever need to describe it to anyone. It could even be a beastly, demonic or soothing voice. Or maybe it could be different for every individual. What need is it for a god to manifest to their followers when they are in their minds all the time?

There is no point in limiting OOC artists' imagination from an IC point of view. It is an art contest. If you feel like imagining BlackFlame and creating something expressing your imagination, feel free to share your work and your imagination with us.

Chessire, I had similar thoughts when I thought about a concept.
Just to be clear, the scribble is not supposed to show the manifestation of a diety,
but the spark of frenzy in the eyes of a follower.
I like the picture of the pupil as a flame.
They say the eyes are the mirror of the soul.
For we are many.

The scribble does not seem to really capture my idea,
and i am to lazy for now to draw a colored image.
So here is a slightly modified image that should reflect things more clearly.

I don't know .. I would leave this one as a mystery. I get the impression that this deity would never let anyone depict it. If anyone did, they would probably find themselves in an inescapable predicament - likewise, if they got that close that they *could* see it, they would probably know better than to do such a foolish thing.

On the other hand, perhaps let the image of Blackflame be something that the good guys have invented ...
Perhaps the *good guys* have all kinds of screwy superstitious notions about what it might look like. Their fearful minds
might be littered with great and terrible ideas of what such an uber-evil being might look like.

I voted with the majority on this one for Rat  \\o//

It was fun to see something completely unexpected for the blackflame and I like the color choices and how they make me imagine a sort of reverse rainbow somehow emanating out of blackness rather than sunshine. Very surprising!
