Title: Dual Wielding
Post by: DizzleCorinthos on June 03, 2003, 12:20:07 am
Anyone hear anything about dual-wielding?  Looked on the boards, didnt find anything.

Here\'s my feelings on the subject.

Dual Wielding should be implemented. (It is set up to be)

Any weapon types of small can be dual wielded.

You can use one medium type and one small.  There should be a low min Strength for this.  There should be a mid min Agility for this.  (Possibly combine required stats for weapons + a modifier)

You can use some large types (long swords, but not bastard swords), with one small or medium.  There should be a high min Strength and min Agility for this.  (Possibly combine required stats for weapons + a modifier)

The off hand weapon should have penalty unless ambidextrous was taken in character creation.

Any ideas on this?

Hmmm sounds a bit like D&D :-)

Yes it will be in the game as will ambidexterity, but there will be more then one level of dual weapon fighting and never will the second had be as good as the first?but at the same time most people will be able to do this by default, but loose dodge bonuses?but gain blocking ability?fair trade for more damage potential until you come across someone who can out damage you and you wish you could dodge better or had as shield :-)

The d&d system works for the most part.  I think you need strength and agility requirements though to keep game balance.

Yep, totally agree: we should do as DizzleCorinthos proposed. Besides dual wielding is soooo cool. Just love it.

Is there any page already existant where we can read about specific stats/bonuses/limitations on dual wielding in PS, or does this have to be created ? If there isn\'t any page, people could add ideas here...
