So this true death, that means that you would literally lose your character and never be able to reclaim it? Like all the work you've done and all the effort you've put into this game and it would just be erased entirely? I was in the middle of downloading this game when I noticed the true death...I have paused the download until I find out exactly what this is because I would not find it attractive to put time into something to just in turn have it completely erased. Please verify this for me guys.

Nevermind guys, I found it. I guess I won't be joining you in this awesome adventure. I couldn't deal with losing it entirely. See you all in a game that actually makes some sense.

true death or permadeath usually doesn't happen
basically it means your char is deleted from the database and it happend just a few (very few) time and for a good reason
some people decided that due to role-play consequences his/her char suffered permanent death but that is always a player choice.

So long, newb.

/me rolls her eyes.
what is it that gets you up in the morning, knowing full well you could die at any second? did you give up on the game of RL as easily? why bother putting any work into anything if we're all just blips on a spec of dust?

I think the simplest answer is that there are no mechanics behind true death, it is simply a conceptual state. But somehow I get the impression that the OP wouldn't have the patience for PS anyway. ;)
