I started feeling nostalgic again so I popped back in game today. Hydlaa is looking more desolate than usual. Even the forges are fairly empty. I think it would be easier to get older players back if it looked like there was someone to play with. If it is not fun to run all over Yliakum looking for NPCs it's not fun to do it looking for people. I do wonder where everyone was though. ???

Maybe they should turn aggro mobs back on and put them EVERYWHERE so that everyone has to hide in Hydlaa... ;D

I say go back to the whole plague from the labyrinths idea and quarantine the other cities. Just make sure that people have access one way or another to everything they can get elsewhere and keep them around hydlaa. Heck, just providing everything in hydlaa without changing anything else will give people a reason to stop and interact more. They will actually be passing each other from time to time.

No I think I logged on after because I went to amdeneir and there was nothing there either. But oh well. I'll hang around for a little bit and see if I can find some RP. You can tell when I am on by my sig thanks to derula. ;)

Thanks :) but I think you'll be the only one to think so. I haven't even played her in awhile since there's usually no one willing to interact past hello, and understandably so. I can only bend her character so much to make her more tolerable but I kinda hate doing that since it took so long to get her character to develop into the personality I had initially intended for her. For now, I think people will mostly see Danao and have to figure out just how to react to him. XD

Been keepin' an eye on things around here from time to time just haven't had the opportunity to dive in. This game can be somewhat consuming for me as far as time and effort. I am looking forward to seeing how much things have changed! I have been getting reaquainted with PS during the past week, its a little bigger than it used to be but way less populated than I remember...

I imagine the complaints would diverge from RP and go to lack of proper models or some such thing just like the game complaints. Silly RPer, the RP will fix itself once all of the mechanics tell you what to do.

Only if you count people talking to each other since the game now has more players logged in than people lurking the forums, and if I wanted to pay someone to take my money, I'd go find a new bank instead. :P

I started RP by using message boards and forums. It's actually really fun, though the norms are slightly different - for example it's generally okay to post what your character is thinking to pad your post's word count there, as one-line posts aren't usually appreciated on them.

Quite true. Also, its less of a game and more focused on story creation. You're not really competing with a fellow writer but cooperating with them to create an awesome story. It does take time to get used to...

Err yeah.... I don't think I would like forum RPing as much. I prefer to know what is going on in a scene fairly quickly and I don't need a detailed description of the surrounding unless it is actually relevant to the incident. Nevertheless, I do have an idea for a funny forum RP.
I was going to let the "rap" bit go but I see Irishman couldn't. ;)

Err yeah.... I don't think I would like forum RPing as much. I prefer to know what is going on in a scene fairly quickly and I don't need a detailed description of the surrounding unless it is actually relevant to the incident. Nevertheless, I do have an idea for a funny forum RP.
Nice thing is, its common to pre-arrange the scene. Two writers may agree on a framework for a plot or general direction in advance and either stick to it, dance around it, or just ad-lib freely without a story arc at all. Personally, I prefer to agree in advance on a loose framework and go from there as without it, stories tend to drift into limbo. With forum RP, its far more efficient time-wise so one can easily juggle a large number of stories simultaneously whereas with an mmorpg you're a bit more limited to the number of instances you can load and juggle at once. One can easily run seven to ten completely different stories at a time if you post a few paragraphs to each one daily or weekly. Just sayin...
