PlaneShift

I'm running Ubuntu on a laptop with an Intel HD graphics card. I had PlaneShift working for a few years now. But ever since one of the recent updates, my client crashes in open areas. I can go around the cities just fine, but when I try walking on the roads my game shuts down immediately unless I look straight down at my feet. As soon as I look up at the road it crashes. I'm already on the lowest settings so I'm not sure what to do.
Any advice?
Thanks in advance.

If you did not yet find answers in several other related threads (possibly pointing at better drivers: intel is notorious for bugged graphic drivers), you might try if disabling GLSL helps here (~/.PlaneShift/planeshift.cfg: insert "Video.OpenGL.UseExtension.GL_ARB_shader_objects = false"; then clear the shader cache) – if not, revert it (and clear the shader cache again) and wait for better advices than mine.

I already disabled GLSL because the game wouldn't even open with it on.
I know Intel has a lot of problems, but I had it working perfectly for over a year, and now suddenly its not working.
Grass and weather are disabled, shaders are on lowest, textures on low, particles on medium (because that's apparently as low as they go). Could it have something to do with water reflection? Maybe rending far-off pools of water is what's causing the crash.

Try clearing the Shader Cache, I had a simular issue till I did that.

If you mean deleting the ShaderCache file in the .PlaneShift folder, I tried that. I even tried deleting the entire .PlaneShift folder (after making a backup of course) to start with fresh default settings. Didn't help.

You can either delete that file manually, or you can click the button "Clear Cache" on the "Settings" page of the launcher...
But if that did not help, then your system really has issues. (http://cosgan.de/images/smilie/verschiedene/d020.gif) (http://www.cosgan.de/smilie.php)

The frustrating part is that it worked perfectly before the recent updates. I've been playing for around 18 months on this same computer.
