I tried to PM a member on this board with that members permission to do so, but I can't send one. I get the message that my account isn't allowed to send PMs. What do I need to do to enable that?
Thanks,

pm's are restricted to members with 10 or more posts to discourage spambots.

Heh, now I have to spam 8 more messages somewhere so I can get PM ability. :-)
Thanks for the answer, and I'm just kidding about the spam!

Another convenient way of contacting someone may be a registration in the FreeNode IRC network, which allows queries then. PlaneShift provides a few channels to chat with players and other people with more or less relation to the game.

Yeah, except she's trying to send messages to me, and I haven't the foggiest idea how to work an IRC chat. :D

http://freenode.net will probably explain a few things, and http://webchat.freenode.net can help those who don't have a dedicated client.

Irc doesn't work in this case (I believe) because both parties still need to be online to chat. In this case I am trying to leave a message to be retrieve later like a post office or similar. The ability to pm "in game" type of messages here is very useful. It would be really cool to leave private messages at a post office in the game. Someone has probably already thought this and there is probably a good reason it isn't there (or at least not yet). :-)
