Do not let the game.
Created an account, confirm it, update the clients. When logging writes: The server not running or not reachable.

Are you behind a firewall? (Company or university net?)

Edit: From where did you download the client? If you didn't get it from planeshift.it or psde.de, you might have an old version with obsolete server adress.

The current installer version is 0.5.9.1; it will suggest to update right after starting the launcher for the first time.

I have Linux. latest version of the client, updating the client did.
When you try to enter a different password, the server responds with the password is incorrect. Firewall is not .. I do not know what the problem is ..

I don't understand.
When the server says "password incorrect", you are already connected and the server is not unreachable.
Make sure you have registered a game account  and not just for the forum.

I just checked and specifically entered a wrong password. The server told me that the password is not correct, then there is a connection to him. But as soon as I enter the correct password server replies The server not running or not reachable

Very odd.
What are the readings for ping and packet loss next to the server name befor you put in the password?
