i was just wondering why are people being mean now ive been only playing for 3 weeks and ive noticed people being rude to new people and not helping ad much............ when i started people where very nice and helpfull....
im worried that when this game goes beta it will degrade to the other trash games out there.... please join me in my quest to make a good game a good game and not let it become runescape or everquest... and to all those people that do help new people thank you for your dedication and advice even though the new person doesnt say thank you sometimes they still mean it
-
If people get rude or impolite tell them to stop that.
Most players on PS are nice guys..8), but there are probably. some others, too, unfortunately.:(
But if some players don\'t want to answer the same questions again and again to every single newbie, who joins, don\'t think they are impolite if they answer \"read the docu\" or something....they\'re just eneved...:D
-
well i mostly feel that the impolite and even rude ones are the newcommers, not the old players :(
-
im nice, i help and im new :D :D so dont start stereotypin us
-
I think as more and more people tell their firneds about this great game, more and more people are going to jump in to see what its about (even though it\'s still in its early stages).
As the population slowly grows, more rude folks will pop up. Sadly, as long as more people sign up, there will be an increasing proportion of people with no manners. :(
I always try to be nice, though... :)
-
I\'m rude, I walk up to new people and stab them in the back....then I go to the party without inviting them

its just dawned on me this game is going to get huge and over populated by the time its released with all the features =/ which means if your right they will be more assholes than u can shake a really big stick at :S

Man, I go away for a little while..... :P
I havent really been on the game for a while, but it always has been very nice people willing to answer the same question asked six quantillion times before. I\'ll have to go back on, and knock them into line! One thing I\'d rather not like to see PS develope into, is a n00b hating enviroment..
-
hopefully the devs or In game moderators will be able to have full monitor of every one and people who are overly rude can be put on a blacklist which people can download and load it up into there account if they want to and this will automatically put them on the ignore/block list

Why not having a FAQ with the most common questions ?

there is, well of bugs anyway, people just dont seem to read it...
-
Only 12 points in the technical FAQ.
I\'ve seee many problems in this forum (and the solutions) that are not in the FAQ.
Else, It would be nice to have this FAQ (or a link to the post in the forum) directly in the PlaneShift web site.

WB! :)
i like noobies ...i just don\'t like assholes ...but i try to be as tolerant as i can be with noobies that seem a bit troublesome
i agree, i\'d hate to see PS evolve into a noobie-hating game ...let\'s all be friends :]

The only newbies I hate are the ones that are like \"OMg this game suxx00rz tehir iz nuthing to d00! I want a fUll version warez!\"
And then you try to tell them that its only a pre-alpha version, but it seems that they cant understand.

personally, what I think should happen to those that are incredibly rude in game, is that they should have all their social interaction capabilities removed, every ounce of them, chat window? dissapeared. guild? he\'s removed from any. being so much as seen by other players? his foul presence is removed entirely.
I don\'t think he should be refused the right to play the game, but if he can\'t play nicely with the other kiddies, why should they have to put up with him...
basically the game would become a single player for him, except that he can actually see other players running around
it would even be fairly easy to do, write up a program for dealing with such characters, and then flag him to run under that program, like you would flag a character to run a particular quest
-
hah, I like that idea, it also means less people will remake a character and just come back to annoy people since they lost their character
-
I just started messing around with this game today and found people pretty helpful. One in particular but the name is escaping my mind atm. Thanks to that person you know who yah are cause i buggered yah in tells half the night :) I think in every game you will find jerks and idiots. In the betas and alphas i have participated in not only rpgs but other online genres it seems that the highly intelligent are the nice ones where as the people with the least knowledge like to be mean to the newbies that wade into the game. Thanks again to all the helpful people. Thanks ahead of time too for future help. :)
-
I like the idea of banning all communication too, but banning them from the entire game is easier, costs them their stuff, and sucks more for them as a result.
-
i\'d go for full banning... but for this to work ok, there would have to be a complaints system (probably something like the one discussed in the reputation thread) for the devs (or maybe even the server itself!) to figure out who is to be banned

Well, why would you want to play a MMORPG if you dont wanna talk with people?
Just but a sp rpg

the way I see it, most of the people I\'ve met who act innappropriately don\'t take that much to start acting right, on the server I play on AC, we\'ve had plenty of kill thieves, my allegiance deals with these quite effectivly, everyone gets their highest lvl characters, and chases every monster the kill thief is hunting, till he gets the idea that it\'s not that fun when someone else does it to you...
on DAoC, we had a higher lvl character training the monsters out of nisse\'s lair out into the front of the dungeon and leaving, where they would wreak havok amongst the lower lvl characters... he did this eight or nine times, until the devs repositioned nisse (the loch ness monster) outside of the dungeon... (with a message to have a nice day)
lets just say, we never heard from that guy, or even saw anyone train monsters in that dungeon again...
people begin to realise that when there are serious repurrcusions for their actions, that it\'s just not a good idea to act like a jerk, I think that a communications ban would cause a lot of people to act right without neccessarily banning them from the game entirely, and such a ban wouldn\'t neccessarily have to be permanent, just long enough to give them a clue. say five game hours, which, depending on the player, could be the big part of a day, to several weeks, depending on the amount of time they put into the game

I came 5 days ago, everyone seems nice (or at least silent) to me,
-
uhum, then Welcome Monketh!
