Will you eventually be adding content by adding portals to the other god\'s worlds?
-
Not exactly, but yes?:-)
-
interesting very
-
Yes, if there\'s one thing I love about these boards, its the subtle hints :D
-
neat!! :] ...will other gods be as interesting as these two are? ...they\'ll surely be more powerful ...at least according to the legends on the page
-
Won\'t the \"other worlds\" be above ground where the sky is blue
-
Hmm, how huge would the above world be ? Veeeery huge... In the very beginning of PS some discussions where held about that, and I think those other worlds are only going to show their heads when the game is (nearly) finished, and a whole lotta players have been online for a whooole lotta time.
-
well now wait a minute this isn\'t going to be a just the home of the gods type planes right??? i mean you guys are excluding the elemntal planes of fire, air, earth, and water. Transitive planes like an astral plane, an ethereal plane, a plane of shadow, wich would thus lead to further alternate material planes?
i understand that the cosmology hasn\'t been realesed and that my thoughts may be completly overlooked, but the planes as JUST the home of the gods... ARRRGGGG i would be very angry
-
Well you could always think of the planes as home for a diverse ecosystem of fantastic creatures where there just happens to be a God =).
-
see druke, you\'re implying that what the term \"planes\" means to you, means the same thing to everyone, inasmuch as it is a fictional or theoretical term, no one person can claim that their belief of them is the truth, if one could prove that they exist, and scientifically measure them, then you could indeed say that your definition of planes is correct
who can really say there\'s a plane of shadow, or an etherial plane, hell for all we know, we could be in an off-plane for a world of pink luv-bunnies....
-
Would those be the playboy-type pink love bunnies? Also, can we use beds in this game? Like lie down on them or sit on the edge.
-
Theres been some talking about sitting/lying down, but for now: No, we cant.
-
Wouldn\'t it be nice to have worlds where magic is more or less powerfull? Maybe even a plane with almost no magic with mysterious ruines of an ancient advanced civilication.
Like the dwarve cities of Morrowind. It\'s then up to the player to discover the ruines, find answers to questions like \"what happened to the civilication\" and plunder the remains.
There might be powerfull and valuable very rare and technological items to be found.
-
But the thirst for glory and knowledge has no boundaries. Beyond Yliakum, concealed by the Bronze Doors, the Stone Labyrinths, the unknown Kadaikos, homeland of Lemurs, and the legendary Pradesha - ruled by the enlightened Ahrijani - wait to be discovered. And much more...
I think that, and the magic portals in the stone labyrinths(if they\'re still open and accessable that is) are more then enough :]
Who knows what will be on the other side of these portals, at least the homelands of the other races, but who knows what more. Hell, I don\'t even have the slightest clue what \"the legendary Pradesha\" is ;) (well, actually I have, but I don\'t know how interested people would be in it ^^)
-
Sounds good, can\'t wait to explore these realms :). The power of magic could differ in these locations.
-
maybe if there are other realms, it would be nice to put a hometown of each race then. that on every plane a race has its own town. So that on a plane (of fire maybe?) the hometown of diabolie and ynnwn the hometown would be, and that the starting town would be the town of ylians and xacha.
-
I think every race (excluding those created by Talad and the other god whose name i forgot) should have his own plane. If i understand Axsyrus correctly this is how the devs are going to build it.
And yes i have said it before, i will just say it again, the level of magic should vary. Maybe i open a topic about this in the wish section sometime.
-
I have a great idea. Lets duplicate the concept of \"planes\" exactly as they\'re described in D&D, because that is the only possible real definition of a plane.
Furthermore, let us associate these \"planes\" with bland, overused themes.
Sorry that I\'m sarcastic, school is breaking me at the moment :-/ To me, the currently understood geography of the PlaneShift world allows for a lot of \"setting\" diversity, and as Axsyrus said, a few portals to other worlds should be \"more than enough\".
I do object to the idea of each plane being heavily themed towards one race, element, etc. - I think that other \"worlds\" would probably be very diverse. With regards to magic, the source of magical energy in Yliakum is some combination of the glyphs (which seem to be universal) with the manipulation of energy of the crystal, so I would suggest that perhaps while the strength of magic does not vary, the availability and type of magical energies might.
-
The nice thing with portals is the possibility of adding new worlds whenever needed. I agree that the worlds should be diverse (and large).
However there should be difference in accent in landscape and architecture styles (as in morrowind). Since many races came through portals it is logical that some have their own homeplane.
Maybe the glyphs can have more power in some worlds than others. Of course some magic should be present in each world. Less powerfull magic in a plane makes a physical technological abandoned civilation more likely. But i do like your idea too.
