Title: [COMMUNITY] NPC paths, missing NPCs, lost NPCs or other NPC location problems.

Ever since the NPC paths were first added there have been problems with them, many of these stem from bad path design, others from bad coding so they go invisible where they should be visible.

With the update of the past few days Eonwind added a number of improvements, no doubt there are still many NPCs with problems.

What I would like people to do is the following; every time they see an NPC stuck in a wall, or cant find one that is missing during the day come here and list the following information (where applicable).

NPC name.
Game time.
Location, when in the wrong place (to work this out type /pos into the chat window and in the system tab the map name and X Y Z).
Description of problem.

Then hopefully as these get listed one of the devs with access will have a look and try and fix the problems.



NPC name: Taulim.
Game time: 3pm.
Location: hydlaa_jayose 160.91, 0.21, -133.02.
Description of problem: Taulim was stuck between the guard building and part of the fence surrounding it.

Hi Venalan,
Perhaps related topic, perhaps not... correct me if I'm wrong, please.

When an NPC is walking along his/her/kras path, and a PC tries to talk to them, they stop.
All well and good, but then they walk away, and this is supremely frustrating, especially if trying to move forward in a tricky quest - this might require several minutes of dialogue...

Can you make the delay longer, or somehow let the NPC stand there until dialogue is finished?

Update:

Eonwind has found some problems with Taulim's paths so will be fixing them.

Getting NPCs to pause when you talk to them is part of the movement system, making the dialog longer would be possible. But integrating it with the quest system would probably be a little harder.

  I've noticed the gobbels from Gug lake are all over, including in the area by the regular consumers...and they appear to be looking for someone for some "fun".....

That seems to be intentionally: one tribe is roaming by settings. Have fun!

Don't forget about this. With the recent update all NPC path fixes are live on the production server so any problems you see are likely unknown.

Post following the out line above so we can get them fixed and keep the game as polished as possible.

It seems Meoeor has shut himself in a glass box so it's very hard to select him. I just moved him on the test server which should fix it. It will be moved at the next server update.

They also deserve a table to play chess on. A foldable bamboo table would be suitable, light enough for traveling.

A few issues with movement not only for NPCs, but for players too: PS#5320 – Unable to climb stairs in Brado's Tavern (Broken Door) (http://hydlaaplaza.com/flyspray/index.php?do=details&task_id=5320) (and other places)

Sadly this cannot be fixed instead (not by me at least), it's a map bug (sort of bug just like kada's entrance) and I can do nothing with it.

I got this from a petition from Rykia

NPC path problem NPC name: Loren Game Time: 9:00 AM Location: In front of Jayose in the library 182.20 0.00 -72.67 Loren was standing in the library already when Talisa walked and stood in the same spot as Loren. She left soon after and left Loren alone.

Also should brado not bebehind the bar at night, that is when most bars are at their busiest.

Description of problem: I noticed Unto-Leig was embedded in the floor up to his armpits. After I walked inside the building and clicked on Unto, kra popped up to floor level.

Description:  May be related to the server crash that just occurred but Jefecra walked up the central steps of the smithy and kept trying to walk through the wall beside the double doors.
