Hi,
our current hoster is asking us to move and we are seeking a new one. If you know an ISP or a hosting company which you think can donate a server in exchange of sponsorship, please write a personal message to me.
Requirements:
- Bandwith usage ranges from 300Kb/s to 1Mb/s
- The server should have the equivalent of 1 quad core and 8Gb RAM.
- Disk space of about 100 Gb is enough.
- We need root access to the machine to install all needed components.
- Must be a hosting company and not your home server :)
We have about 1 more month to move.
Thanks.

i think you mean 8GB RAM.
How much Traffic do you expect?
maybe we can "crowdfund" the new server ;) (~ 25€/Month in Germany)

The cost of such a server is about 100$-150$ / month depending on hoster. If you see any hoster giving the above specs for 25/month, please link it here, so I can check/evaluate.
About sponsorship at the moment I got no answer or negative answer from the hosters I've contacted. I will keep you updated.

with KVM from netcup: http://www.netcup.de/bestellen/produkt.php?produkt=472
with OpenVZ from colorhost: http://colorhost.de/en/server/vserver/openvz-large/paket-l/
If you really need a Root Server you should take a look at

If the server is setup on a paid basis for that little, we could probably just do it through donations. Think about it, it's about 300 a year... So if 100 people would chip in, that's three bucks each per year. I'd cover that no problem, hell I'll pledge a month right now. And I hardly play.

Hello. I agree in donate a server. It costs about 30 Euro a month. If there enough people like six its only 5 euro a month. I could cover that also monthly. Of course i think there would be probably more people joining the idea? I hope you find a solution. :)

Yes, there have been some updates during the last "Dev Q&A": Talad said the current contract could be extended by a month, and negotiations with possible next hosters be promising... well. First-hand information preferred.
