Planeshift seemed to install fine. Using Windows Vista, 32-bit. The only server mentioned in the game login screen is Laanx. I have tried running as "Administrator," uninstalling/reinstalling, running again, running the repair/integrity check (successful), running again as "Administrator." What else do I try?
I am still receiving the "incorrect user name or password" message.

Just to be sure: You are aware that you need a separate account for the game? The forum accout won't do. Register here (http://209.59.234.149/register/) and then wait for the activation mail (if it does not arrive within a few minutes, check the spam folder. If it's not there eiher, make a dummy account with gmail or something similar. Some email providers immediately delete the activation mail.)

I registered an account at planeshift.it and received an email with "Thank you for registering at PlaneShift. Your username is Cyn AuxNymm." I followed the activation link and everything seemed normal. Is there another place I need to register?
edit: Yes, that's the same site where I registered in the beginning. Maybe there's some delay?
edit: I have been putting my email address in the first field

When you log in, you need to put your email address into the "account" field. ::|
This tripped me up too in the beginning.

Are there no other suggestions?
It's probably something ridiculously obvious. I played in Planeshift several years ago, until an update made it unplayable on my older powerpc processor.
If I find the answer, I'll post it or I never was able to log in.

What happens if you resend the activation mail or click the password recovery link? If your account was not validated properly, an admin can do it by manually. (Fastest way to find one: Go to http://www.planeshift.it/irc.html , follow the instructions and find your way to #planeshift-gmtalk.)

- leading blanks in the password field?
- Are you running the newest client version from the download page?

Hi,
I checked and there is no game account registered with your email (the one you use in forums). Did you use a different email there? If not, go to http://209.59.234.149/register/ and register again.
If you are using an old account, it may have the password encrypted in the old way (more than 2 years). If that's the case, just log into: http://planeshift.subhosting.net/myplane/
A log in there will re-encode your password with the new method. If you are able to login in myplane, then you can try again in game and should work. Let us know if that fixed it.

Thank you. I went back and re-registered and now I'm in and everything is fine.
