Title: Wanted - Brawlers, Drunks, and Characters
Post by: Illysia on May 21, 2013, 10:27:58 am
By settings brados should be filled with drunken brawls, barflys, and other colorful people. But as it stands, it's mostly empty. It's more sedate than Kada-El's and that's not right. ;)

So, if you have a character given to carousing or at least starting things, please take time to provide the needed color at Brados. The settings will appreciate it if you do. And if you don't have such a character please consider making one.

Remember everybody, this is the tavern where it is ok to throw a punch. ;)

You just have to be flexible and make your behaviour match the traditions (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RdR6MN2jKYs&hd=1)...

Quote
Elwood: What kind of music do you usually have here?
Claire: Oh, we got both kinds. We got country and western (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cSZfUnCK5qk).

Well you still need the people. *nudge nudge*

Well, we may need more reason to stay in Ojaveda. Is there anything happening, except smithing and advanced training for powerlevelers in magic?

And also rooms. Kada-El's has three. Where do I stay in Ojaveda?

Grab any of the abundant tents in the town. Easy stumble home distance from Brados'.

I would be happy to make problems for anyone in Ojaveda.

The problem is finding people to make problems for.

But really, if you want a random trouble maker to interrupt anything you are doing at Brado's and I am around, just give me a poke.

I've RPed there like 3 nights so far this week. I think I may eventually move Illysia back to the Stonehead, but for now, while she is working through being alive again, she is stationed in Brado's kitchen. But I am dragging RP back to Oja. :P

Also, there is a lovely little ultic with several hammocks in Dsar Saraghi that I would like to turn into an inn of sorts but we need more RP before we can get changes made. Beds, rooms, business, and stuff only come AFTER the people do. ;)

@Taya: I'll keep that in mind. We may just have to send out tells whenever we have something going in Oja. I also use Gossip for getting word out.

I would stay in Oja for now if its working. Gug is too remote - only insiders know about the RP that used to exist there and nobody's going to trek all the way over there to find out that its empty. Oja is a little remote, but I think its a  little more populated that Gug if I'm not mistaken.

Last night's RP got a little fragmented as tiredness and mind fog set in. I blame myself primarily. It was a good start though.. definitely worth kindling.

Due to ptero travel it is the same distance, physically gug is closer, and with tells and gossip you don't have to trek anywhere. :P The way you get RP to a place is to start it and drag others in. At this point it has nothing to do with how many people pass through the area. Look at Hydlaa there should be much more RP for the amount of people that pass through there. As far as I've seen, both Gug and Oja were equally dead, and yet I've been able to start RP up in both places.

Now is the time for a new RP push. Maybe if we do get something good going there, it will build up enough momentum to keep itself going without great strain on those of us pushing. However, it would help if people spread the word to work towards revitalizing Oja and if people take time out of what they are doing to support efforts there. It might prove to be a better location for a new RP push since there are fewer restrictions, less government, more "lower income" places, more hidey holes, and plenty of open buildings. There may just be more story opportunity in Oja, if we make it...

Gosh, I really can't help myself can I? Here I go again. :P Oh well... time to get to work.  ;)

I have always loved Oja and most of my guild's RP has been centred around or at least to do with the area. Most of my characters live there. Some of them would be happy to create trouble whereas others would get annoyed if they saw outsiders making trouble on 'their home territory' so I could probably fit a character in either way. Just send me a tell if you want me to show up sometime. If I'm available I won't have any objections at all.

That's where I got the idea, to be quite honest. Its nice to know that there are others here who are just as warped if not worse :)

Dropped by Brado's this evening. Lot's of potential on the brew. Already someone has looted my tent. It was Mishka's old one. So out of the way my hope is it's an rper and not a noob. :)

Thanks for the effort Illy.

reminds me that I still have a char with a fur bought from her....

I don't have a drunk to play, but I do have chars which could help filling in some space in the tavern. Next time I have time to play, I might give it a try there :)

In Sarraghi? Hmm, I doubt you can enter this area already; it is in the center, behind the gate next to the Pterosaur. The merchants' area to the left, near Trasok's forge, is the "Steel Bazaar", connecting Dsar Akkaio with Dsar Kore, home of the Enkidukai army. And to the right is just the warehouse district in the eastern part of Akkaio.

And I still don't know which timezone you have, if I knew, I could try to visit you at least briefly. Even if that means playing during my job in the morning... :P

Obviously I just missed you. But I have to sleep after midnight, you know...

I'm -7 GMT LigH. I typically get on from around 10pm to midnight your time. Apparently the steel bazaar got lost in the settings shuffle, most people have no clue what I'm talking about when I mention it. That area has always been presented as a new Dsar not the steel bazaar.

The settings might be much clearer if even concepts would already be available (to some extent); the Wiki page on Ojaveda (http://planeshift.top-ix.org/pswiki/index.php?title=Ojaveda) might be a useful place to present such a simplified quarter map, I know one exists, I have seen it some day...

Most of the npcs in Oja seem to know about the Steel Bazaar... and other places. Its interesting to ask them about it!  :-X :-X

I remember asking Trasok and Brado about it. It's just that most people probably don't stop to have conversations with NPCs anymore, you know since the quest triggers change. I remember having a lovely talk with Kaiman about where he was from one day. ;)

Indeed, many NPCs have a nice story to tell. I keep suggesting new players to ask Burdess about her job; Gordy has an interesting attitude too. And I remember Fholen having valuable information about his life.

Venalan and Taya have done a nice work to improve KAs (knowledge areas, aka npc dialogues not quest related) recently. A pity the KA system is not widely known.

Excuse me, I see my mistake. I meant Dsar Kore... Kinda hard to keep track since there aren't signs. :P

Oh and I might add, anyone that has gossip turned off by default to keep out the chatter can turn it back on now... It's mostly quiet now. Basically people only use it if they really need it, quietest world chat anywhere. ;) But it is now useful for getting people together for RP. Mind you, that is only true if people join the channel and keep an eye out.

Or like in the good old times of CB radio, switch to channel 9* and yell: "CQ! CQ!" (seek you ... anyone out there?)

*abuse of the emergency channel to seek casual chats is not very appreciated...
