Now that the NPCs have some pretty interesting AI/behavior, it would be cool if certain NPCs would attack you only if you had certain faction associations. For example rogues and cutthroats would attack anyone not associated with the thieves, certain sewer residents could attack those who don't have connections to the cabal of whispers, etc.
-
Would be interesting too if NPCs eventually attacked each other based on belonging to one side or another.

I'm imagining tribes of ulbernauts hunting down and slaughtering everything else on the map ;D

Wish already granted  but unreleased (yet). That's basically what I'm working on right now.

Negated :P
Even though on testing server I managed to get two riverlings fight each other to the death, a cutthroat slayed his friend :innocent: and even a riverling committed suicide ;D we decided to avoid wasting cpu resources for NPC vs NPC interactions and save it for player vs. NPC interactions. You know cpu resources we can afford are limited.

Well, even the random NPC activity sometimes looks like interaction. Recently I thought Eagle Gobbles were playing catch-me, running in small circles around each other.

they are patrolling their home too :D

It's interesting that just as my character has become aware of a certain eclipse that the wildlife seems to be disturbed. The Trepor herd seemed especialy affected to my character. ;)

This should be a nice way to get some IC aspect to having a certain faction value(s). Be nice to have this stuff in.

Beware the rats then. Was pretty easy to get negative faction with them. Next thing you know, 20 of them come out of nowhere out for blood.
-
Are you saying that they somehow know that you are a rat basher?
-
MAGIC :sorcerer:
-
I'm not saying a word. ;D
-
You'll have the stench of a rat basher on you... or uhh... the stench of other things floating around in the sewer. :S
-
Well, it IS fiction after all... and what would be cooler than emerging from the sewers with an army of diseased rats, rogues and gobbles in your wake.
-
Umm... not having them all behind you?
-
Or like, you know, coming out of anywhere else with anything else following you?
-
lol
That could be annoying actually. The rats would *rat* you out, effectively. It would get old rather quickly too.
-
I suppose a squeaking entourage would be problematic when sneaking around... So would one that gets everyone sick when you pass by.
-
Remember this? xD
