Title: WINDOWS!!!
Post by: Wedge on June 09, 2003, 07:44:15 am
And no I\'m not talking about the OS.  This is just a minor thing I\'ve noticed that really bugs me.  The windows in rooms of the pub aren\'t real!  They just have a picture of some sky type scene on them, it looks really weird.  Could we just put a transparent texture over them in the next version, or remove the polygon(s) all together and leave them open?

C.A.-

MUST be done, I think!
Can be considered a bug.

well, it didn\'t bother me much, since everytime i went to kada\'s it was raining outside, and the windows also show rain :] ...but yea, there should be glass ...it\'s just a minor glitch though

the windows are nicely drawn though

About rain...
I noticed another glitch: whenever you enter a house, the raining stops outside, and \"restarts\" only if you go out again.

I think I also know the cause of this problem. I suppose it is due to the fact, that raining \"follows\" a character. I mean, it only rains in a box around you, and when you walk, this box goes with you. When you enter a house, the box stops raining, so it looks as if the raining stopped.
A solution for this \"window and door rain\" problem might be to check ALL windows, doors, etc. in the world, and place a thin box at these entrances too, so when it rains, those boxes will also produce rain, so it will look raining from inside a building too. I saw it was done like this in other games, like Undying.

What do you say?
