Title: Source Code not on SourceForge?
Post by: Thnod on July 15, 2014, 03:44:40 am
Only the "How to Download" html file is there. Is there another way to download the source code? I want to experiment a bit with modding.

Of course it is available; but because it keeps changing, it won't be provided as an archive file in the "Downloads" area. Instead, look in the Code (http://sourceforge.net/p/planeshift/code/?source=navbar) area.

Use an SVN client and do a checkout. For Windows, you may like TortoiseSVN which integrates into Explorer context menus of folders.

Note that you may not have the permission to use modded clients to log in to the PlaneShift game server if it enhances features in an undesired way.

Any chances git will be used in the future for version control?

If it has objective advantages, beyond "a matter of taste" ... but I know other projects which sound like religious wars since developers switched.

Just wondering... I get that migrating/integrating can be a big pain.... and as long as there are no real advantages I do not really see the point either....
