I know this has probably been asked, but I seem to have a problem finding where it has been asked.
Is there currently a way to obtain guildhousing?
-
You can look here for example: http://www.hydlaaplaza.com/smf/index.php?topic=34368.0 (http://www.hydlaaplaza.com/smf/index.php?topic=34368.0).
It is an old thread, and there is a lot to read!
Summarizing, the houses are auctioned on specific dates (you can check the calendar to see if such an event is already planned) in a roleplaying fashion.
-
Guild house auctions are not very frequent, but there will be such an auction in less than 3 weeks (http://www.planeshift.it/events/73/1409430600).
As there is no upper limit, some guilds offered incredibly large amounts of tria during past auctions. Therefore, some attempts have been made to award houses on a pure RP basis, but that somehow did not work well so far.

The One was the last guild being rewarded,

And look at how much are they using it... I think it's only Evirea logging in regularly.
Talk about bad choices.

Well The one has made some good RP in their house... Inviting everyone most of the time... Actualy I admit that they are quite quiet but Guild are like that... one day very active and goes calm for some time... and then become even more active...
-
I know it's been talked about before, but what about guild houses from older guilds that are no longer active? I walk around seeing signs for many guilds I've never heard of.
In fact, it seems like every guild in the game with active players now could have their own guildhouse if they used a renting system instead of permanent purchasing.

Hear ye, hear ye! I'm simply stumped, all-out-amazed, discombobulated even, that some guilds will have to resort to make friends with other guilds to get a place in which to live. God forbid we roleplay such actions - in a roleplaying game.
-
Uhh... what?
Are you suggesting we ICly make friends with inactive players/guilds? I think the "inactive" part might make that kinda difficult...

No, I probably worded it very badly. I mean we can't RP our way into an abandoned guildhouse, and that to get one (as if to say) we need to befriend other (active) guilds.

Dang. And it seems the one being auctioned off isn't even close to a desirable one...

Feel free not to bid :P

I'm just saying that, according to the PS home page there are only 32 guilds in existence with enough members to buy a house under the current rules. Some of those guilds are 9 years old with only a dozen or so members. I think there are enough guildhouses already in the game to accommodate every eligible active guild, if only the inactive ones were taken away by a dev.
And before anyone calls me biased, I'm not even in a guild. I'm just going by what seems to be the best option for the game in general.

Competition is also the hallmark of a competitive game. Bidding is fun and lets you know who the rich ones are. ;D
