I created the player Gruga and already in the end, in the moment of the connection it said that I was already connected to the server. Then Psclient concluded. When I went back to connect it happened the error.

128 MB RAM

I guess the 8MB video will give some problems ingame, but the menu should work fine, shouldn\'t it?

Perhaps you should make it a necessity to give the password aswell, since the account will be deleted anyway and the player can recreate with a new pass.

I don\'t know if you have a way of seeing if accounts really do have the database error but that\'s my 2c.

Acraig doesn\'t remove valid accounts unless you provide him with additional information.

It would make much more sense to create a trouble ticket system that would only be viewable to the techs. You never want to post passwords no matter if the account is to be deleted or not.

I have a little script that I use to check. I enter in the name and it either says:

Account is Bad ( and I let it remove it )
Account is non-existant ( I do nothing )
Account is OK ( I do nothing )

I will try to make a way to automate this at some point but for now it is ok.

i have the exact same problem that this guy does and i haven\'t found a solution in the foruns. sometimes i get a database error, sometimes i don\'t, and sometimes i get the link dead.

Virtual Memory is a function of your operating system. If your OS has VM turned on, then Planesshift will take advantage of it.

As to how much memory Planeshift takes, that is still an evolving specification. If you have at least 128 Mb, you should be ok.

Can you delete all of those please. When i create the character, t freezes at initializing character on the loading screen. Then when i try to log in, it says the database error and tells me to contact a PS admin.

Rule of thumb, virtual memory should equal 1.5 of physical memory. With 256 mb of physical ram, your virtual should be set for 384 mb. You might get away with up to 512. If you over do it, the swap files becomes huge, and the system spends most of it\'s time searching and swapping memory blocks.

On my AMD XP 2000+, game initialization takes about a minute. On a P4 1Ghz, it takes about 90 secs. Both machines are equipped with accelerated 3D graphics cards.

the problem i\'ve been having is that i started with the link dead error, then the database error, and now it\'s saying i\'ve already logged on when i try to make a new char. how can i log off or whatever?

like hundreds before me: Remove \"Bomil\" and \"Adersin\" please.

My first account [\"Bomil\"] ended up \"linkdead\". After resolving the problem, I got the \"db error\". So I created anotherone [\"Adersin\"]. Everything seemed to be fine. But as I tried to connect (Main Menu) to the server, I was stopped again, receiving the \"db error\".

By the way:
Maybe it would be a good thing, to give some hints about firewall problems in the players guide on your web site. This could reduce the \"linkdead problem\".
