Title: Burned Modifier on Lower Quality Food
Post by: Illysia on November 20, 2014, 09:29:56 am
If I understand modifiers well enough, it would be nice if there was a chance for some common quality, and lower, crafted items made in the oven or stove to get a modifier of "burned". It may seem trivial, but things like that do help to provide incentive to work on skills to raise quality level. ;) In another game, the quality system is skill based and there's nothing like getting 2 out of 5 stars to make you go and try that whole dish over again worse yet when you completely mess up the dish and it becomes burned and inedible. I figure it would be time consuming to set that up so I wouldn't expect it any time soon, but it would be fun to try and "beat" the modifier, especially since it seems even decent cooks can still get items that dip low on quality.

So like.. if you really suck at cooking, would you be able to burn water or gems?

Hmm... I like it!  Rigwyn's right and there would have to be limits on what can burn, but if they can figure that out, then this would be really cool! I think you're onto something great Illysia!

Who's to say lack of talent doesn't bring it's own skills? Burnt water is an art that not many can master. :p

If you want to burn water just add pure sodium. I think 'burnt' might be le mot juste.  or it might be tomato juice  I don't really know
