Title: survival game
Post by: manonoc on January 26, 2015, 05:41:04 pm
hello,

i would like to create a survival game, from planeshift:
create all that is the game with material from nature (wood, stone, leather, iron ore, clay, leather, ...)
and have a realistic behavior with hunger, thirst, disease, body heat, ...

(like
rising world  http://store.steampowered.com/app/324080/
or "The forest"
or 7 die to days, but without zombies)
)

Could you think is it possible ?
i've already done alone, from scratch, a 3d engine, and a physics engine, since several years, but now it is time to use a more advanced 3D engine if i want to create a "game"

is someone interested to go with me into this adventure ?

The CrystalSpace 3D engine and the PlaneShift game engine are OpenSource, you may be able to create a fork of it. But the game content is not, you will have to create your own database contents and art.

I wish you success. But I have seen so many people trying to make a game, even very organized teams, with only little results...

Yes, a mod or game improvements is possible the way to go as some that you list might be some intressting aspects for planeshift itself.
