So I've never been a big fan of the Kran, but recent discussion of the marriage got me thinking about kramination? Krantilization? Er eh.. Gemming.
So its my understanding that kran don't do the dirty deed because they would chip or krack or maybe they have bad knees. Whatever. Something more akin to germination happens? Like how plants and flowers are pollinated by the breeze and little bees?
So does this mean that if there are a concentration of kran in an area, they will become fertilized in a similar way? Via wind or contact with the ground or by swimming in the same lake? ( Well, wading )
What happens if those kran are like brother/sister, parent/sibling or just good friends? Does this mean that any kran that's of gemming age can just get gemmed up, kranstipated or whatever you call it by attending a family function or by hanging out with the guys in the tavern?
Are they freaked out by the fact that their kraby might be the result of hanging out with kranpa and kranma ?
Discuss!

They devour the parent? ::| ::|
Yeesh... I hope that's not what Kran do. :-\ :'(
Not that I play a Kran... But... What a horrible way to go. :o
I mean, wouldn't they just fear having gemlings if that was the case? Or wait until they were nearly inanimate lumps of rock, about to crumble to dust?
If this is the case, no wonder there aren't many Kran around... :whistling:
;D Rigwyn, you made me laugh... Good points, though. ;)

Rigwyn...are you sure you don't take drugs? ;P
Thanks for the much needed laugh.

Oh, I don't need drugs... I'm screwed up in the head enough as it is... ::|

NO they don't devour the parents.
The Kran reproduce by Gemming, and they don't need and they don't have sex, gender or whatever. For any interested in digging further read the book in the stonehead tavern which explain everything about Kran reproduction.

Why does this picture of a Klingon with a puberty zit on his wrinkly forehead pop into my mind?!
"No, this is not a zit, but my bud!"

NO they don't devour the parents.
Would be hard for them to have siblings else.

From the in-game book itself on the topic of Gemmation, it doesn't take that long (around ten days), immobilizes the kran, and they can choose whether or not to have a lot of kran accompany them for the process. But I'd think at least one would need to be around for the emergence, which is described as the front of the torso of the kran turning to sand so that the child can be lifted out - if it isn't lifted out during that time it can be trapped in again and die from being absorbed back into the kran's body.
Gemmation occurs after a kran eats a large amount of ore/other stuff kran eat, so as far as I know and can interpret it, they can choose to have offspring via overeating. If I'm gonna use this interpretation through the book, kran can be accidents too! But I'm going to assume portion control is strict within kran culture for this reason so that it remains something somebody can choose to do.
