Hi everyone. I am suggesting that there could be different tiers or types of arrows, and that arrows have their own damage value or modifier and its quality to be factored into ranged damage. Plat-steel arrows would be another tier. Different arrow types can also exist. Specialized arrowheads or poisoned variants can be crafted. The quality of the arrow should affect the damage of ranged attacks. What are your thoughts?

Interesting idea. Different kinds of arrow heads can give some kind difference, for example there are shapes that makes the arrow hard to remove from the body. Platinum steel might give some advantage against heavily armoured target but will cause no extra damage.
EDIT: I was going to tell that different arrows are more like a personal preference than anything else. An arrow does not magically extend it's range, shoot itself faster or be more accurate. Then I realised that I do not know so much about archery.

Better balance, fletching, and materials can help with penetration, range of travel, and keep them true, but of course they are limited by the skill of the archer.
The bow is a big factor too, of course, though again only by helping the archer get out what they can put in.

If arrows had their own damage values, there would be a benefit to crafting higher quality arrows. Crafting options for rangers would be more extensive if arrows came into play. There would be steel and plat-steel arrows. The different arrow types would be bodkin (traditional) or broadhead. Bodkins are the traditional pointed arrowhead. Broadheads have sharp blades and require harder metals like steel to work. Arrows would be looted or crafted and have simple modifiers like short, long, wide, narrow, serrated, and barbed.
