Post by: tygerwilde on June 14, 2003, 09:13:14 am
would yall beleive, that three times today, I\'ve talked to people about this game on asherons call, and within seconds, I get dumped from the server I\'m playing on, I\'m just explaining to friends where I\'ve been and suddenly I see, the server disconnect screen, and my dial-up is still running, so I know it\'s not that...

What else can we expect from M$?
Imagine what will happen to your computer if one of the new windows\' finds a Linux on it...
Ever wondered why new windows\' need Internet to work? Who knows what it sends to M$.
That\'s why I never move on from Win98, and I never upgrade it. Who knows what does that \"upgrade\" really do. If Win98 will no longer be supported at all (which I doubt in a few years), then I\'ll move to Linux or HURD forever.

Greetings,
E.

Reeheehee, yeah, I can just imagine, as far as upgrading to a new comp goes, when I buy a new comp, I\'m gonna use the copy of win98 I\'ve got now as the os, or maybe xp, I know peeps who say good things bout it, and I\'m trained in win, don\'t know the other OSs, never upgrade to anything higher, unless of course m$ performs a corporate takeover of the world, then I\'ll be surfing on win 5000 between turns at the oars, being very careful my whip lashes don\'t drip blood on they keyboard...

I\'m trained in windows but i would love to see bill gates go bankrupt and die..... He ruined Project-Entropia when i was helping out with it..... THAT BASTARD!

why am i not surprised...
IMO M$ isn\'t as scared as it should be ...there\'s a big market that\'s switching OSs and office apps ...well, continuing my statement would probably start a flame-war and would be a bit OT here, so i\'ll stop :)

PC game companies should start making games super compatible for linux and windows so that people like me arn\'t scared to switch OS and not be able to play our faovrite game.

It\'s a vicious circle, the software companies aren\'t gonna make software for linux cause the majority of the public is using windows, but then again the software companies are creating this atmosphere themselves. If the software companies don\'t make linux products then everyone will keep using windows cause that\'s where you get the most compatibility for software. The circle is round.

But hey, if you\'re so worried about your games not working, just do a dual-boot.

i think that\'s called the catch 22

anyhow, that\'s exactly why games should be (natively) ported to linux and mac

anyhow, i don\'t think i\'ve missed a lot in the past two linux-only years ...no really good games were made for win* in past few years ...and for all the old good dos/win*games i\'ve either got a ported engine, or an emulator (although i prefere the ports!!!) ...also i think my games taste change with age and switching to linux ...i don\'t like (need) violent games anymore ...well except the ID classics and heavy metal fakk 2. i play to relax and have fun, not just to play and kill time (as my winxp borther does) ...i could always boot into winxp and play a win* game if i wanted, but i didn\'t boot into win* for a year or two now ...i just don\'t feel the need, plus i don\'t feel safe in win* (never did actually) ...the last game i played in win* was nwn, and that\'s quite some time ago (before the port was \"ready\") ...but i have to admit that i prefere tuxracer to any recent win* game ...try it, it rocks!!! ..just about to get the whole version :]

I used to play DAoC, see, the big problem is, by the time you\'ve played three weeks or so, you\'ve done it all. literally, everything there is to do can be done in a few weeks, on AC, they\'ve got so much content you can play for months without completeing all the quests. I know, I\'ve been trying.

but any game gets boring after a while...

hey, just exactaly how much do those pay to play games run you? Im 18 now and I have my own job so I can start paying for the games. Only thing is now Im haveing a hard time finding the time to play them. Being a full time college student and then working part time also will really take it out of you. I hate haveing 12 hour days where I stay away from home from 9 am till 9 pm, it really sucks. I have addections I just feed but Im looseing the time to do it, oh how twisted and confused my life have become.
Skoogie, I hath failed thee........

well, AC is great, it has lots of content, and I can set you up with a good allegiance with lots of peeps that will help you out learning the game

the dark magesty expansion can be bought for 20 dollars with a twenty dollar mail in rebate, then the first month is free, but you have to have a Credid card (just like any p2p games)

I play on the Leafcull server, under the name bob the weird
my allegiance monarch is named tibbet tallfellow, and unless he\'s busy questing or muling, he\'s usually more than happy to talk to people, help them out, whatnot, my patron is dreammachine, his patron is paksenarrion,

other good names for you to contact are destinee, destinee toyama, destinee vendar(one player, hehe)
snave toyama, ah\'valene, tahira, and buffy bunnieslayer, although she isn\'t in my allegiance, she\'s a great person, I hunt with her a lot.

just don\'t talk about planeshifts there, they tend to take it personally, and boot you out of the game ;)

AO is waaaaay better than AC... And I don\'t want to sum up the reasons why that would simply take too much time... and space :P
