as nice as this game looks, you guys definately need to stretch out the textures used. i notice in the stairs in the plaza , a texture is repeated and repeated. this is not good. in one section of stairs you have over 300 polygons being rendered as well as the rest of the surounding area. you have to realize that not all people are running on pentium 4\'s witrh a geforece 4 256 mb card! stretch out your textures. this will greatly decrese lag.

No, they are not all running on similar hardware now, but in 1-2 years, when the game is expected to be complete, they will.

no they won\'t, some people will be using the best they can buy at that time, others will be using computers that are older, mine now is more than four years old, I\'m sure that most likely you\'ll have people here that will only be on 1 ghz comps, while others are on 3 ghz machines, heh, and I plan on trying to get on with this old clunker

No really Boonet knows what he\'s talking about..
In the start of every game the developers agree on which level of detail the game is,, One artist don\'t just start making 128x128 textures while the other one are making a 2000 polygon character.. They all agree on it the first thing they do..
And I wouldn\'t say that this game has insanly high standars..
But ok we\'ll go redesign the whole world with the new knowledge we have learned from all-mighty Beorngar ;)

well, if everyone\'s gettin new computers lemme go stand by my mailbox and wait for it to come ;)

ok fist off, i think your design is awesome. i think it looks great. its just the polygons that make all the lag. thats all im saying. if ya just stretch out the textures a lil bit, the lag will decrease in a ridiculous amount.
second of all, niber, your a smart ass, i come to help out so plz dont get on my back about this kthx :).
BTW i dont think complimenting boonet will make you any more than a cool n00b.

ok, at first I was a bit on your side man, but the n00b talk has to go man, or you\'re gonna face my n00by club of doom, I\'ve weilded this on many forums... fear me
*weilds n00byclub menacingly*

lol isnt that what his rating is tho?

The idea that in 1 or 2 years everyone will be runing lightspeed computers that can draw the whole universe is ridiculous, I am a computer scientist here in Brazil and i surely know how the computers evolve, but i also know that mostly of the people can\'t just buy every new hardware as it is released (in not rich cowntries it is even worse) so when you are making your product (in this case PS) you have to think on your target, do you want the game to be played by some hundreds that have the best machine and decide to try and likes or by thousands who have average machines?
I personally thinks that is better if you do a product to everyone, so your product will have bigger chances of success...
(if a person try your game and thinks that it works well, he try more, if he enters and think iss too slow for me he just get away before he can see the other attractives...)

Please don\'t mock me dream of getting rid of this title ;) .. I hate my title,, it sounds soooo n00bish
Hazbahal: Actually my computer is 2 years old (with minor updates) and I can play the game kindof good as it is now. Imagen in 2 years when its done I may still be able to run this game with this computer which will be 4 years old by then. I anyone have a computer older than 4 years then they shouldn\'t complayn about the game they should complayn about their computer.

there\'s a difference between n00b and newbie
see newbie just means you\'re new around the place, and don\'t know what\'s going on, it\'s just a term for someone who hasn\'t been around long
n00b means you\'re a dumb n00b. if you see log on your first time, see fifteen threads with the word class in the title, and post a thread asking what classes will be available without looking at any of them... that\'s a pretty n00bish thing to do, and it\'s considered a very impolite term to call someone. often chosen as a fighting word
by the way, niber, all I was saying is that it\'s impractical for boonet to think that everyone will be running a similar system, which it is, no two systems are alike after all, and with windows and linux both running the systems will be VERY different in both operations and capabilities
