Title: new open gl drivers

Hey, I was playing ps for the first time in a while and its lag was still the same from when I had first started playing im getting about 1 fram every 2 seconds. When I was in game someone told me I needed to dl some newer open gl drivers. Well I went to opengl.org  and they said that I should get them from the website of the game im tring to play or something like that. Well I dled the latest version of planeshift and all its components to even start playing again so I think I should have the newest drivers. I am really confused about this can someone tell me what Im doing wrong? I have a pentium 4 processer and a cable modem so I know its not my connection speed issue.

What about your video card?  If you don\'t have a 3-D accelerator than OpenGL isn\'t going to do you much good...

nah don\'t worry abou tit. everyone\'s got lag problems and sometimes there is none.  usually it runs smooth early in the morning or late at night

Drivers are usually retrieved from your card manufacturer website, not from games websites.
OpenGL is gonna give you some sensible advantages only if your card supports it in hardware, else all you\'ll get will be a software emulation of it, with all the predictable impact on performance.

ok thx for the help. they probably said from the vid card\'s website like you said but I probably just miss read it or soemthing I want to get a better vidio card anyways, like that new radon one, but it cost like 320 $ when I priced it online. I guess it will have to wait till after i get that engagement ring for my girl friend lol. A man has to have his priorities.
