Title: Reactions to game
Post by: Maskedtiger on July 02, 2003, 06:00:27 pm
I downloaded and installed the game in a about 20 min.  I got the deadlink error then figured out how to fix that.   so I had my char I set up openGL 1024x768 full screen not half bad.  I could not figure out how to go from the moust pointer to just make the mouse look around but after hitting all the keys on my keyboard somehow I got it to.  After that I could not figure outhow to talk while in the mouse look around mode.  I met some people we jumped over a wall or somthing.  IT was good for a little then started to get laaaaagggggy.  I waited all I could bear for it to clear up but it did not. IT was so laggy that I could no longer move then It got a little better took about 3 min to exit the damn game.  2 other times it was primmy much laggy from the start.  I have not doubt that it it has to do with the game and or server.  How ever I do realize it is a beta game and may improve.  I look forward to and update for the lag.

I run mine in 640 x 480 mode (access the setup in the start menu), because my computer is pretty crap. If you put your screen resolution down it gets better, and also putting colours down to 8 bit if it still lags.
Oh, and here\'s a tip: Read the player guide on the website before playing the game, before getting stuck and moaning to us about your problems.

edit = missing word

If you get lag with those specs then we\'re all doomed :D. I am only a step down and also get loadsa lag. Can\'t we be given an option to use OpenGL\'s fog or something like most games do. This could surely do alot of graphics culling

Edit: it improved alot under linux

My computer\'s specs are alot worse when that
I get very little lag (though lag doesn\'t habe much to do with the computer i think)

The fps doesn\'t seem that bad. It jerks abit in the city square and is perfect when in the caves and passages. That could just because I am so used to laggy games though :(

I don\'t think you are really here to complain about the game. I really think you just want to show off you PC :P

I overclocked my processor the other day, and I am planning on getting more ram so I\'ll boost my specs in order to se if it helps...

We have three computers that can run it ( :D ).
2-good
1-new dell

The dell is best but, runs very slow in slow mode.
However it runs much better in opengl mode.
1 of the good comps runs it near perfect in opengl mode.

It\'s very odd how ps lags the best comps worst. :P
